SETI@Home is a program that takes radio signals from NASA satilites and looks for intelligent signals from other planets. It uses your computers idle time (screen saver mode) to do the data crunching. Check out the SETI forums section for more information. I made a post in that section on the best way to get as much data processing as possible, read that thread as well.

Oh, I know what it is
, I had that screensaver installed like five year ago. I'm wondering how it'll earn you points on ATS?

i can understand the top serious posters not wanting their topics and research being filled up with stupid and dull and uniformative comments, but at the very least we should be able to read them without the rights to add comments to them. it sucks being on the outside
it smacks of elitism

There is nothing in RATS that could not be in the other forums. I think that the price of 3500 points is a bit steep for an entrance to the forum but what are you gonna do with the points anyway?

if you look back a bit it realy looks like the one's who are so conserned with the going ons of RATS are the one they are trying to keep out!!!!

Would you care to elaborate on that, please?

Here's a preview of what you might find in RATS.

I see post after post of mostly new members who get so tied up in getting point that they end up doing something stupid and get them selfs banned...on the down side there posts are also removed

The only purpose of RATS is to shield certain threads from the search engines. There's nothing secret about it. It's not like you're posting out of the view of anyone or an organization or government entity. Besides, what else are you supposed to do with your ATS points. Maybe 3500 points is steep, but at least people will have some posting experience on ATS before moving to RATS.

Thanks for the preview, Zzub. Well, what can I say. Things that are out of reach somehow always seems to be the most interesting..

Official information on the subject is easy to find, and is included in every new member's welcoming U2U: www.abovetopsecret.com... The point of a restricted access forum is to keep search engine spiders from discovering content that our members would rather not be discovered.

LOL @ Zzub.

But seriously. NOTHING,BUT NOTHING goes on in RATS.There is NO SECRET IMFORMATION revealed there!

THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE !!!!!

After all this is only the premier conspiracy site on the web with the most intelligent and imformed posters ever.

MOVE ON !!

He he, I have to add the disclaimer that I may have done some very minor editing on that screen-capture in photoshop....
