Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the perfect example of disinformation coming from within the UFO Community. Quasi-religious fringe jargon is most definitely disinformation.

It has been speculated that the ultimate reason for abductions is to create humans with the ability to communicate with aliens...
That being said, I seriously doubt that the aliens would give some people detailed information relating to catastrophic future events while ignoring the rest of the human race. I also doubt that the aliens would just happen to share many of our spiritual/religious beliefs (unless they actually seeded our planet with those beliefs).
In UFOlogy, the 1950s are known as the 'contactee' era because a variety of people came forward in that time period who claimed to be in casual contact with aliens (who were usually from Venus, of all places). Now, it didn't just happen that these claims distracted the populace from genuine UFO sightings... it turns out that more than one 'contactee' worked for the government...
So take that as you will. My belief: aliens may be creating a set of humans who can understand them, however most people who claim to have a 'special' relationship with aliens are just wrong... and their claims are pushed forward by those who want to distract people from real phenomena...
If I were a superior race, and I wanted to, I think I'd just blow us up without going through all the trouble... what motive would they have for watching us slowly destroy ourselves?
