The Great Delta Of Cthulhu, Whose Tentacles Reach Out Across The Land
The Bombetoka Bay in Madagascar stretches many tentacles into the mainland via this tidal delta. While sometimes the water is a deep blue, at
other times its Cthulhu-like rivulets turn deep red. What makes this strange body change color?
According to Anne Jefferson at the awesomely-named geo blog, Pathological Geomorphology, it all has to do with erosion.

So very great photo's of The Great Delta Of Cthulhu.
It definately resembles an octupus. The only thing I know about the origin of the name "Cthulhu", is that it was created as a fictional entity
(which resembled an octopus) for a horror story.
Nonetheless, it very cool how these viens of water extend, and change from colors.
Enjoy, and don't forget the check out the links.
