You have a somewhat simple view in your post so I’ll give you a little more detail than just calling everyone the samething in all rising against the Americans.

What we had there was Iraqis that wanted to kill each other over disagreements of Mohamed's ancestry that has been going on for 2000 years. This secular fighting was/is brutal to say the least. An Iraqi who wanted to cross the town to get new government papers had a good chance of not coming back. They would get arrested and end up dying by torture, all done by the establish officials of that area they walked into. Some of these secular groups also fought the Americans, but not many since they were too busy killing each other. Those few that did fight us are what you refer to as the indigenous people fighting the invaders, but not very many.

The next groups were insurgents under other countries support and orders with Iran the biggest supporter of them. Think of these guys as foreigners fighting the holy war for god and money, so pretty much motivated mercenaries. At first some Iraqis helped them but it quickly became obvious that the insurgents killed more Iraqis than Americans. If they could blow up a whole town to kill one American they would. They were who did most of the beheadings as a form of fear. Their successful job was to maintain the chaos to that we might leave and allow their benefactor nation to move in, such as Iran wanting the northern oil fields.

Then next group was who we would officially call terrorist, Such as Al-Qaeda and a few other movements. These guys are all about “The Holy War” they are who created most of the suicide bombers, but once again they killed indiscriminate to say it lightly. As example, thier holy bombers were some poor guy who they would go into his house and tell him they would kill his family if he didn't put the vest on and go to the market. Once he did blow up killing a lot of people the terrorist would still kill his family and move on.

The last was your typical power grabbing cleric or officials. They would have small armies they used for personal gains and power, and they killed the local populace rather indiscriminately too as they fought each other for power and territory.

Donny, that's fine and you are entitled to your opinion just the same as I am entitled to mine. The Iraq war is being played out quite differently in the UK with former cabinet ministers and an ex head of MI5 going before an inquiry board to testify that the reasons we went to war were questionable with regards to legality and the evidence was questionable. The former Blair government is probably complicit in the death of David Kelly who raised serious doubts over the validity of a dossier which suggested Saddam could launch a WMD attack within 45 minutes. This became known as the dodgy dossier and was used as evidence to get the House of Commons to agree the Iraq invasion. The former head of MI5 raised serious questions over the intelligence used in the report, suggesting a lot had been taken out of context and re-written to suit the Blair agenda.

In some other post someone said "americans are your brothers", and after watching this, all I can say is that my mother knew best in raising me as a decent human being, telling me not to participate in wars, to treat anyone as equally as I could and to always give a benefit of the doubt.

I served for 4 months (since in my country we were obliged some 14 years ago), and all I can say is that the military is the same anywhere: a bunch of losers that exist for no reason at all, except to show off their newest toys to other countries. But I mean, in the U.S. it's even worse: soldeirs are drafted from slums, poor nighbourhoods and trailer parks scented by money. I mean: is there any senator's son fighting in Afghanistan? Why should it be when it's easier to pay unemployed and futureless kids money? SHAME!

my dad is a doctor now. i was not poor and i did not enlist for money. i enlisted to fight for my country like my father and his father. so that people can live in freedom and not have to fear that a mortor could fall on their house at any time. and i think all HUMANS deserve to not be afraid.

if you were in Iraq before we invaded you would know how horrible it was. if you were there today and saw how happy the iraqis are then you wouldnt care about our "reasons" we obviously changed things for the better

As bad as it is, and as right as everyone may be from their own perspective, consider the prospect that the military may be the private army of a relatively small group of bankers. That it is all about profit and nothing about foreign terrorists; that the army does not exist for the sake of the American people? Makes a bad scene even worse if true, so before we go any further, we need to get the answers to a few questions. Cops, too. Let's back up, remember to breathe, and regroup around whatever the truth may turn out to be.

White Phosporous, who ever posted that link should know it was full of prop-aganda, it is a highly flammable substance but not poisonous OR a WMD.

While it IS a crime to use against civilians, this does not mean the US is doing that to terrorize civilians, i'm an Artillerman and I know WP (Willy Pea) quite well.

The Apache went down there thinking there was a threat and opened up.

I don't know what they were thinking but I blame their chain of command as well.

War is Hell, and in the profession of a soldier'/airman/marine/sailor it's something you live with.

What happened was wrong and a mistake but to use this to portray a negative picture of the US military is wrong as well since this DOES NOT happen every day.

Anyone NOT in the military should do themselves a favor and look up RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.

im not a jock. i have a family and two sons. i dont get off on killing or being a "bad ass" i do what i do because i know from frist hand experience what happends when someone DOESNT fight for your freedom.
