Nah private company. The UK isn't responsible for what their private corporations do. That's only true when it's the US. Like when the Wall Street carrion-eating slime tanked the world economy and the US taxpayers were made to cover their multi-trillion losses and malfeasance. That kind of stuff only goes on here.

First, I'm wondering why you would post a comment to the video as a snippet from a news source. That comment, while it might reflect your view of the situation, is not from a news source and is just some poster commenting on the video.

Second, the U.S. government has never come out and said that the well was dead. Ever. Anyone who believed the use of the term "static" meant it was dead was doing exactly what they wanted them to... to believe it was dead. Believe me, if it was dead they would have said it was dead... they did not.

It's always a good idea when reading government responses to pay very close attention to the words used. I know.

Its all over dude. BP saved the day, they capped the well. Didnt you know?

You need to start reading....that is what they want you to think....watch the BP live feeds to see how "over"it is.

I was wondering when this might happen. It's common sense that putting a cap on something with that much psi is due to blow. There are already weak spots and fractures that have got little media attention. This will be astronomically devestating reaching much further than the gulf! Scary!

I see on the source page there are 38 comments. The one this begins with is from someone called JEC. Are you also JEC? Curious is all.

I don't think this is over by a long shot.....the BOP is still leaking...it's not dead. Anyone looking at the live feeds can see it.

Well I have a question that most of us could answer but what made BP think there wasn't going to have some problem when the first top kill didn't work and they kew that there had to be a problem in the well casing? .As far as I know there aren't any well fairies that could go down and fix it. Maybe BP has some magic well mud that they used and it fixed the casing. I will say this IMO they don't have a clue about away to fix this well. That is my opinion on this.

well he may not have used those exact words, but when you say that the whole thing is coming to an end and that the majority of the oil has been cleaned up, you might have well said it.

Now dont go twisting this post around, trying to discredit the post. if you do, your a Troll, and no amount of denial will change that.

So, in other words, those word werent spoken, and now you are calling people names instead of admitting fault.

Attacking people and calling them trolls is extremely counter-productive to informed debate.

I'm wondering why Britain isn't helping fund the attempt to cap this well. I may be mistaken on this, but I havn't heard a word about Britain helping in any way. I may be mistaken on this. I just supposed that since it IS a British company that is responsible for this disaster, the least they could do is pitch in. I know they've stepped up their inspections of their oil rigs, but like I said I havn't seen anything about them helping with the current crisis. Someone please prove me wrong on this.

BP is a publicly owned company with a large portion of shares owned By Americans. The failing of the rig have as much to do with the corruption of the MMS, and the Cheney admin's 'closed door energy meetings' as it has to do with BP. Blaming the brittish is silly.

I like the Florida oil spill law site -- seems to have reliable info. Can't trust the MSM for anything. The news is routinely "shaped."

I suspect, as others have postulated, that BP is desperately trying anything to close the flow of the well, because they A)- Dont want the Fed to know exactly how much oil has been spilling out of that thing and B)- Want to get control of it to tap it again soon for collection.

If they leave it open, then the Fed can get accurate measurements of the flow, which will cost BP money. And if BP can pretend they 'fixed' it, then they can walk away from any resulting issues.

Clearly this approach isnt working, but they are going for broke, so they dont seem to care if it destroys the well (and sea floor) in the process. I mean, if that DOES happen, it will be such a huge catastrophe that I suspect America will have FAR more immediate issues than dealing with BP.

So, they're hedging their bets and going for broke.

Here's only one of MANY articles where PRESIDENT Obama WARNED the public there may be continued problems with leaking, cleanup, etc.

Obama warns new oil leak cap method 'not without risk'

Obama expressed concern that none of the attempts to plug the leak have been successful.

"While we initially received optimistic reports about the procedure, it is now clear that it has not worked," Obama said in a statement after speaking with top officials about the situation on the sea floor and along the US Gulf Coast.

I've noticed that ATS has numerous OO's (Obama Operatives). These OO's defend anything Obama does -- totally in the tank for Obama. You would think the kool-aid would have worn off after 18 months -- but apparently not for all.

On the other hand, the OO's may be paid to defend Obama online. So that's how part of the "Stimulus" money is being used! Would not surprise me at all.

And I"VE noticed how people like you LOVE to pop up and try and make this a partisan issue, even if it means lying about quotes, and attacking anyone who asks for proof.

The gulf oil spill and the way it was handled is totally about the money and politically corrupt. I just watched a series of videos a friend sent to me about it. It is composed of numerous clips put together that definitely presents the big picture. After watching this, you will see how full of bull the officials really are and why you don't want to eat anything from the gulf regardless of what they tell you. Hint: Watch all three in the order shown, about 10 min each, to really see the big picture. Tell others via email, blogs, forums, whatever, it's important info!

Here's the links that were sent to me.

Chemistry Guy, thanks for this -- I watched all 3 videos. Crucial must-know info for the general public. Unfortunately, most of the sheeple will remain asleep because they think this oil spill is over.

I hope you understand that this was NOT just about money. (Yes, I know Nalco (Corexit) is connected to both BP & Exxon.) This is also about the Depopulation agenda.

The Unthinkable is true: the Gulf was poisoned on purpose.

Welcome to reality folks ! O the oil has stopped coming out of the well head... Well the rest of the world then forgets about it... Reality is it has only started ! This has and always been like an old bandaid on a sore. At sometime its eventually gonna loose its sticky and fall off ! I am a million miles away from the situation but my heart is with the people and the environment in the communities there.
