They're old.
And very expensive to operate. And their primary mission (building the ISS) is done.
But it's a bad idea to dump them.

...unless they are replaced with something that works.

It's pretty sad that the public doesn't care about space exploration anymore -- and that's why they can't secure funding to just get it done.

Maybe the ISS is a meeting point with ET-s?????

Let me just remark that since this is a conspiracy site, this comment makes 100% of sense. Entering of the atmosphere may not be desirable for the aliens for fear of detection or malfunction of their craft.

Thanks!

Peace,

i found this quote taken from here to be quite funny...

Earth Applications There is currently no vaccine available for the strains of Salmonella which cause diarrhea for public use in humans. This research may help develop vaccines against this life threatening organism.

does this remind anyone of the bp filings with the gov?

Why is it a bad idea to dump them? I can't think of a single reason to keep them around. Big deep useless money pit if you ask me.

There are probably a couple of "red phones" up there too. One to the president and the other to the Vatican. Did i miss anybody? Oh ya maybe one to the Illuminati.

Very expensive, yes. I said that. And now that the ISS is complete, quite useless as anything but a bus. I said that.

I don't know, maybe just nostalgia, but it just gives me a bad feeling that the US will have no manned orbital capability for a good stretch. I can't help thinking that something, even something old and expensive, is better than nothing. Until something else is available.

Ok so they are conducting all sorts of experiments.

So where's all the results of these experiments ???

I smell a rat here, anybody else have a sneeking suspection that there are also some sort of covert operations going on ?

The ISS is basically a laboratory that is studying how humans can live in space. As was mentioned before, one of the primary "experiments" (if you want to call it that) was the actual construction of the ISS. Building the ISS taught us more than we ever knew about how to build habitats in space. Our knowledge of space construction took a quantum leap when the ISS was designed and constucted.

Now that the ISS is built (and that "experiment" is complete), the new main "experiment" being carried out is "how can Man live in space". The results are available in scientific journals from NASA and other institutions such as universities who are conducting many of the experiments.

I've argued before that the manufacturing experiments being conducted on the ISS are minor compared to the volumes and volumes pf knowledge we gained on living in space habitats for extended periods of time.

The "black ops" foots the bill. Funded by some tax dollars, and a lot of drug money. Things like stealth paint and other composite materials are made while in space, as it cannot be made on Earth. This is why it is so expensive.

I think it is often forgotten what the difference between information and knowledge really is. But that is just me.

So they are experimenting on the effects of long term life in space.
Too bad they don't do more research on the long term effects of life on Earth.
They have to be in space to develop a vaccine for salmonella?

You might think that it is just another form of the old "arms race", but really even that is all a show put on by the world controllers to fool us.

The long term effects of life on Earth are well known.
They are 100% fatal.

Some religious people might disagree with that number. Other than that I don't know much about ISS

Hi there, downunderET. I made a post awhile ago about the ISS and it possible implications you may want to read. Skynet and Cyberdyne are real, and they equal trouble It is my sincere belief that what we know ans the International space Station is a joint effort to build a Death Star, a weapons platform in space. I cannot prove this, nor can anyone disprove it either. Most of the shuttle missions are classified.

Space Shuttle Military Missions

Military Missions of the Space Shuttle

As I write this, a plan is being put into place to take over the internet and phones, and media outlets for the "show" TPTB have prepared for us.
Project Blue Beam
After this special event, who really knows what they will do with, or to us as a people. I know they would like to kill off what they call "useless eaters" and the disabled, and all prisoners. A Marine buddy of mine told me one night that when in the military, he had a standing order to kill all prisoners in case of social upheaval or outbreak of civil war. I have two other buddies that saw a 90 foot tall Christ in the in the night sky over Iraq.
I most strongly believe that TPTB are being controlled by ET Beings that care not a thing for us. I also happen to think that life, as we all know it, is about to end suddenly. Get ready for anything, people, we are about to see the greatest show on Earth, and we all have front row seats to the event. Now, am I right, or crazy? You decide.
