The Strain - By Guillermo del Toro and another

Just started reading this (well, about 3/4 of the way through it now...was a long flight the other day)...and it's really pretty good.

It's a modern day vampire story, but not your typical vamp...he's more of a plague than any kind of feeling character. Good protagonists too, especially the former Holocaust survivor/Vampire Hunter...

Great horror elements, and excellent tension builder... Kind of similar to King's short story of the Night Flier, except it starts with an airliner full of dead folks, and then a series of bizarre happenings after it lands.

If you like King and/or Koontz, you'll probably like this one.

Sounds very interesting. This is actually the first time I've heard of this before. I'll be checking it out as soon as I can.

Was actually pretty good. Looking forward to the next one.
