The article points to huge parallels between the greedy rulers trying to grab at more wealth, only to have some of it escape. The King's greed came back to haunt him because he ended up creating the circumstances of his demise.

It seems to have been a tyranny of incompetence.

Gosh, history does repeat itself ... because we could be living in such a time right now. And under such a tyranny.

As for the 13th, well... As you might guess 13 is my favorite number - and I've always gotten a kick out of 13 being the 'black day' in the USA when here it's the 17th. Superstition is a wonderful (?) thing.

Once I found out were Friday the 13th really got its meaning from, well I have been disappointed ever since then and never believed in the whole bad luck thing

I would be more worried about a night with a full moon than Friday the 13th

Man, this is LUdicrous beware of black cats going under a ladder your near, or breaking amirror for 7 years bad luck* whcih ironocally seems to have started ever since i did break one years ago in the living room...still no family and a sucky job!

but I loved the movie 'Saturday the 14th' when I was a kid lol

on topic, from what I have heard, there are other reasons behind 13th being a bad day besides the templar massacre

Personally I am hyped because Friday the 13th is traditionally my lucky day! So let everyone else hide, I plan on partying!!!

The only thing that people should beware of is another Friday the 13th movie. Yet again the media continues to play an outdated movie or we may enjoy the updated (2009 version) of an outdated movie Friday the 13th. Both movies need to be taken off the air.

I believe I often have good luck on Friday the 13th. I'll see just how lucky I am today. I believe both of my bosses are off from work today. It's starting off good. Now I just need the stock market to go up about 300 points today along with my stocks and I'll be happy.

Thank you for posting this thread. One thing I just noticed...after finding your thread and opening a calender online, is that today - Friday the 13th - is in a month with 31 days. Of course 31 is 13 in reverse.

Another thing, I added the date, at face value. and came up with the number 33. Here's how:

08-13-2010 or 8 + 13 + 2 + 10 = 33.

Maybe this Friday the 13th is a sync of some sort? Timing? Hmmm. Or maybe it means nothing at all.

One thing about numbers, they are not superstitious.

Edit to add: Oh yes, and I gave you the 3rd flag. It was timing, I did not plan it that way. It is the first time today (the 13th) that I have been to ATS. Thought I'd check "recent posts" before I go to bed. So, I'm posting this on the 13th. Another unplanned sync.

As you can see by my avatar ,13 is my number . I like Friday the 13th since my name is also Jason .I also smile and celebrate the Templars punishment , could not happen to a nicer bunch . Shame the job was never finished , we wouldn't have all the pain and suffering that we have in the world today .

This is my first Post, so Hello everyone. However my birthday is on the 13th, as is one of my best friends, and my mothers also finds her birthday today actually, and I can say at least nothing has happened horrific to us (knock on wood). Yet I well say this, Every time I see friday the 13th I am weary. Always.

I never believed in the whole "friday the 13th" thing.

Today though is different - I'm a wedding photographer for the 1st time, and I am just waiting for everything to go wrong

Regardless of whether it's the 13th or not, Friday is always a good day, it's the start of the weekend! Even better than that, I've got 2 weeks off work after today and I'm going for a curry and a beer tonight with the guys from work. As much as I love my wife and daughter, it's good to get away every now and again
