My nerves are at breaking point,
I turn the tv on...advertisement
open my email...25 in junk box
the postman arrives..6 junk letters all wanting your money
the phone rings..oooh that important call, but no I've won a holiday
Open a news paper...advert staring me in the face...
Get on a bus..look out the window...Big f/o advert on a board...
magazines, beer mats,
I've had enough...please take all your adverts and junk etc...
and with great dignity..shove them right up your a*s

Imagine if every atser put their years worth of junkmail into one pile?
To me...junkmail is proof that TPTB don't give a rat's butt about recycling or the environment.

Until they quit making disposable razors and sending me junkmail.I will not take recycling seriously.

I know its a little off topic but junkmail really angers me in many ways.

You know what, you have a great idea there! Maybe we should ask ATS members to save all junkmail from today until the end of September, and then post a photo of how much there is.That would be interesting.

To the OP, I understand the frustration of the constant bombardment, I too HATE it. Unfortunately, in many cases the adverts lower our costs on the product we purchase as they subsidize it. Nice catch-22 hey?

Without junk mail ordering pizza would become a highly overpriced ordeal. And getting food at some fast food places, such as Arby's would suddenly cost about three times as much.

So I suffer the junk mail just to make sure I have these little comforts handy when they are needed.

That does bring up a good idea, however.

Maybe what we should do is redirect all our junk mail to the white house. All of us. We could bury that puppy in a couple weeks. Le them physically have to handle it all, and see how long it took before they outlawed it.

When I get junk mail that includes an already paid for postage seal on it, I mail the junk back to them. No, I don't fill out anything. I Just write nonsense on the papers and mail it all back. For more fun (heh, I do have lots of time on my hands for cheap thrills) I will save up mail for a couple weeks, and then send one company their competitors mail, and so on.

Save those "no postage necessary" envelopes you get with ads that want to hear back from you and fill them with all the other junk mail you ge and drop it in the mailbox.

That way you aren't responsible for dealing with the trash they send you and you put those postal workers to work.

Think of it as a post office stimulus.

I wish all solicitation would end. If I need something I'll go get it. I don't want people on the street bothering me with the petitions and I don't want mail in my box I did not specifically request and I don't want phone calls I did not specifically request.

The more they push the more angry I get. If I get a "can I help you?" from a salesman in a store I leave. If I wanted you help I would have asked for it. Eventually the leaving will be preferred by a vulgar outburst and sooner or later that vulgar outburst will be replaced by a punch in the face.

I tend to put my junk mail into the flat upstairs' mail box.

Mainly because anytime they smoke it comes into my flat and stinks, and also anytime they use their balcony they feel the need to kick the iron railing which is bolted onto the wall a foot above my window, basically vibrating my whole living room.

So I put all my junk mail, menus and stuff into their mail box.

That's right I'm bad!

webmail you can use a good spam filter

there is ways to avoid it

I dont receive junk anymore ... almost none ...

but this will never end, it will only get bigger!

Ever notice that junk mail is now mailed to only zipcodes sometimes? The USPS is fast becoming irrelevant in its current state, so it is evolving into a legal way to force unsolicited material for money.

okey so get adblock on some annoyng ads in the net (okey not this site because ats needs the money..fine) you never know how much nicer the net is with blocked ads.
stop buying magazines and papers full of ads.
i hope that cool ihpone can block phone numbers,couse an old samsug c45 CAN.
if it cant,well i have to go pull the health support plug on steve jobs again.
and get a mail filter
get some plugins for firefox to delete cookies,flash cookies.
get something like peerblock,you have a right to defend your self
and to the sites that make you disable adblock,they can kiss my white tooshie
