That reminded me of a horror movie scene.

You know the scene or scenes, you know something is coming, and you see the storm rushing towards the area the soon to be victims are staying.

For all the destruction and devastation that happens in severe storms around the World, there is no denying the Beauty of Nature, even when a huge black cloud formation rolls in making everything look bleak and miserable, the power and force always makes me watch in awe.

I saw some freaky storms in Arizona during the monsoon season, but nothing that compares to what I saw in the video, it moved so fast, I have never seen a storm move from land to sea before, obviously it happens all the time somewhere, but its the first time I have ever seen it.

Thank you for sharing.

Yeah, and the closest thing that i've seen compared to this was also monsoon season in Tuscon Az. Lots of rain, dark grey clouds, and loud thundering. But this one took the cake.

Wow I would be scared out my mind if this was creepy up on me.

The storm front caused a panic in the Hietaniemi beach

The reader by describing the video shows how quickly the storm blacked out the front of Helsinki Hietaniemi beach on Sunday night and how people ran to escape the thunder.

That was nice, truly nice. It's the MIST, the MIST. I've seen fronts come through like that on the ocean and on the beach, it's scary when you see it.

Nothing personal OOysi ,but what is the big deal,I cant see anything strange about a storm rolling in and people running for shelter. This looks like a common storm and not even that severe,Maybe they dont get storms in that country. That camera is rock steady though that is what looked unusual to me.

Actually Tampa,Florida has the distinction of being lightrning xapital of the US. Here is a little info for you from National Geographic.

The highest death rates from lightning in the United States are in Florida, which is known as the lightning capital of the country. According to the service, from 1959 to 2003 lightning killed 3,696 people in the United States. Of those, 425 were in the Sunshine State. (The only state that did not record a lightning death in the period was Alaska).

Lightning has injured at least 2,000 people in Florida since 1959.

news.nationalgeographic.com...

You can check it out at the link above. I was born and raised there and I can tell you the lightning there is rediculous in some storms.

I think that he was showing the way the cloud looked and how fast it approached the beach. As for the camera it was probably set up to record a visit to the beach and then this thing came rolling thru. I probably would have filmed it also since you don't see that everyday. This thing was pretty ominous to someone that isn't accustom to storms like that.

this video is great... when the storm front is moving in, it kinda looks like "the blob" or the sludge monster on the movie Dogma..

Pretty sweet but I too wonder why there was a random camera person on location. Perhaps they were just filming the beach, saw the storm coming and decided to shoot that?

Either way, great video and I bet many folks won't forget seeing that

That was just the Large Hadron Collider being turned up. If that was the truth that would be some serious crap happening.

Edit: More Power More Fun

In response to this being an intro trailer to a new movie. Around 50 seconds above the blue voleyball post you see something that has looked familiar in some other intro trailer, uber-suspicious movie that was about to make the scene. You see the creepy looking face that made an appearecae in the clouds over the Cloverfield movie posters that first arrived coast to coast. THis was the original secrative Cloverfield poster.

Kinda looks like this will be Cloverfield 2 ?? Just my thoughts.
