What would it mean to you if all conspiracy theories were false?

What if:

Man actually landed on the moon?

Lee Harvey Oswald, actually killed Kennedy?

All U.F.O's were in fact man made?

12/21/2012, actually comes to nothing?

Roswell, was proven to be a military experiment?

The New World Order ends up being just a key phrase, and not a legitimate threat.

The Powers That Be, Stopped paying attention to us a long time ago, and are now playing a lot of golf.

BP didn't know about the catastropy to come. They actually did everything they could after the fact to stop the leak.

The Main Stream Media, has actuaually been telling you the truth.

Not that I believe in many of these scenarios. Though what if it was all proven to you? What if all you had doubted was proven true?
What would be the impact on your life?

Would life become so mundane that you wanted it to end?

Would the destruction of your beliefs be the end of you?

Could you ever look anybody in the eye, who you stated these beliefs to?

Just curious.

Well, its highly unlikely that ALL conspiracies would be false. Just random chance would seem to call for some being true.

Secondly, the true/false thing is a false dichotomy. In all likelihood, many of these theories have some grains of truth mixed in with a lot of mistaken assumptions.

But, if ALL the conspiracy theories were proven beyond a doubt to be true, I personally would just have to sit back and evaluate my thinking and logical capacities. I would analyze how it could be that my reason was so off that I had mistaken so many things.

Mind you, I dont believe in every one of the theories you list. But if my own personal conspiracy theories were proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be wrong, I would look at all the information, and my thought process, and I would try to figure out why I had made the errors I did, so that I would not make them again.

For me, I can honestly say it would be rough to say the least. I have lived my life in this world for so long, If My ideologies were proven wrong. I'm not sure how long I would last.

Then they are all still conspiracies. The conspiracy theories themselves becoming the conspiracy against the truth.

You have to love those conspiracies, even hypothesising doesent get rid of them.

I agree, just mathematically, at least one needs to be true, "maybe" You would take it far better than me, simply because my beliefs are such a huge part of me.

If all of those theories were to be proven false, I would continue to live my life as normal.

Not saying that those theories ARE false, but the answer to your hypothetical question is our current "official" reality. So basically you're asking, "What if right now was right now?"

At one time "the world being round" was taken on by many. Though it was eventually proven true. What do you believe the mental status of those who disagreed was, after the fact?

I notice you didn't add in 9/11.

Most of the one's you mentioned have questions that could be answered by the Government. The Gov. fails to answer most things. Why wouldn't people speculate?

How about the, conspiracy theories, that are sacred to you. That are the reason for you being here. If those were proven false, could you live with it?

Well its pretty obvious to anyone who looks at the evidence for the moon landing that we DID land on the moon. Of course there are those who religiously defend their viewpoints about it being a hoax, they are led not by evidence but by their conclusion.

Lee Harvey Oswald, eh, maybe. Honestly the Kennedy assassination isn't my forte, its very possible he did it.

Most UFOs are man made craft that are misidentified but I don't think all of them can be explained away as man made. There are also atmospheric and electrical phemomenon to consider as well as the possibility, however remote, that a handful of sightings might be interstellar tourists.

2012 will turn out like the myriad of other doomsday predictions. Just a con job by snake oil salesman and new agers making a buck off of the gullible and paranoid.

Its my opinion that the NWO is just as you describe it, a word that get's tossed around. We wait for a SHTF scenario where TPTB switch into OVERT tyranny mode. It will never happen, they already run the world, what do they need with overt dystopian tyranny?

What would be the impact on your life?

Nothing really. I'm already skeptical of every single one of these commonly held conspiracy beliefs. They don't need to be disproved, the burden of proof lies on those who make the claim.

Would the destruction of your beliefs be the end of you?

Wouldn't life be a BETTER place if the NWO wasn't about to round us up into FEMA camps just before the world ends in 2012? I mean MOST of these conspiracy theories make life more sinister seeming. I used to believe in most of them when I joined this site and I can tell you it is a liberating experience to know that much of it is hype and pseudoscientific nonsense.

You are right, I should have named 9/11, and many others. How about it? If all conspiracies on 9/11 were eventually proven false, enough to even convince you. How would you feel?

Dear dreamwalker74

I will take a few here :

All U.F.O's were in fact man made?

I think if that were true it would be even more worrying?

Roswell, was proven to be a military experiment?

I think if that were true it would be even more worrying?

If either of these are true then we are living in a world of duel realities and guess what if they are a lie we are still living in a world of duel realities.

Yes I could live with it because that would mean things are better than they seem. I'd probably rejoice. Except I'm a pretty big believer in Annunaki theories, one of the only theories I believe in that doesn't involve corruption or doom and gloom(sans Niribu coming in 2012, I have no stance on that), so if that were absolutely proven wrong, I'd be a little disappointed but it would still be business as usual.

ETA: These are *my* views. I certainly don't discredit anyone who dedicates their life to proving conspiracy theories right. More power to them, and I'd feel pity for those individuals if all theories were proven wrong.

This raises a very inreresting thought. What percentage of ATS would remain emotionally, and mentally stable, If they were proven, beyond all resonalble doubt wrong?

All conspiracy theories are theories because they are NOT TRUE. The are only suppositions, suspicions and ignorance. If people do not look for truth by researching, then researching the sources of the answers they find, they will always take the easy out.
If you don't understand how weather and the atmosphere works, then surely "chemtrails" must be the answer. If you don't understand the factors involved in the strength of the suppports on a high-rise building, then surely it must have been bombs/explosives that made the WTC fall.
If you don't understand economic diplomacy, then surely it must be a cabal of wealthy "elites" that run everything. If you don't understand the spread of and mortality rates of disease, then surely vaccines are worthless or harmful.
See? Conspiracies are the easy out. Where did you learn about TPTB, the NWO, and the like? Did you look for every possible answer? Did you learn about other conspiracies along the way and just accept them without research, because you believe what someone else is promoting? Face it, conspiracy proponents are not poor, nor are they experts in anything but putting out media. And spreading fear and distrust. And encouraging further ignorance. I can't tell you how many times I have been told I was a "sheeple" who "believes what I am told to" when I was using logic and common science. Since when have standard scientific principles been suspect?
As in US law, when you make a claim about anything the onus is upon YOU to prove your case, not on the skeptic to disprove it. I'll stick with the experts, not hyped-up media conspiracy pushers.

MK-ULTRA has been proven real.

Tuskagee has been proven real.

Human experimentation, in these two cases and others, has been proven real.

I realize that your premise is basically hypothetical, but all conspiracies are not false.

Now, I think that there is a relevant amount of misinterpretation regarding many theories but the fact of the matter (in many cases) is that money and power beget pursuit of more of the same.

And as long as that holds true, those whom have both will continue to do what they can to misrepresent their actions to the populace. It's human nature.

If all conspiracy theories that are unproven are false it will mean two things to me.

First that humans are incredibly stupid and self-destructive on a grand scale.

Secondly the true nature of man is greed, ignorance, and evil.

Essentially what little faith I have left in humanity will be shattered.

Thank you, but I also have to ask "Why are you here?" What is your conspiracy theory?
