We're in deep,but we don't make a peep,
our forefathers weep, as we remain asleep,
the world evolves while we relax, face facts,
Our government mule is our government tax,
our forty acres is just a patch,
that we rent and thats fact,
they add stress 'till we crack,
whether your white or your black,
we're held back,
We reject your fiat, currency it's imagination,
You detect and react, with urgency, intimidation,
print counterfits, we're not flattered by imitation,
your agitation,exposes your limitations,
while the eye it sits above, with it's hand in your glove,
pulling strings, but when push come to shove,
it's still All About The Love,
not riches or fulfilled wishes,
your masters tinctures, muddy waters,
then plaster pictures, of celebrities daughters,
more gossip for us paupers, inflation, open borders,
means less game for our quarters,
losing hope while we're pacing, were getting used to waiting,
its amazing, you forced us to stop making, since then we've been grazing
and now we're tasting,
just a bit of whats to come,
down we've been dumbed, mice looking for some crumbs,
America, take a look at whats been done, and what we've become,
once the land of the free, soon a home to us bums.

I am bumping this poem I wrote 2010 because after reading it again after all these years,I see the content as still relevant.

The open borders line didn't make much sense at the time what with all the clamping down of security at our airports..at least to most people..put into the context of the mass refugee crisis in Europe and the repercussions...

Sry in advance if this self bumping aggravates some users..this is not flag or star hunting I assure you.

With all do respect,

Indecision has two wives, just letting you know what sitting in Archie's chair is. The wives of course represent the reality and the dream. Not knowing either is the delusion that one choice is better than an other when one doesn't even know thy own self yet think them-self known cause they haven't separated from knower and known.

Of course, the poem still speaks 6 years later... this cycle has been going on for 1000s of years already, it's the coat hanger or frame that hangs all the different clothes time wears that is lasting... the frame of which is simply humanity no matter what closet or where it is found, life just hangs around slipping in and out of different clothes.

I just sit here because it's more comfortable...

The only two wives are Edith or Gloria...

Hrmm.. Thinking back...I would rather have Edith as a wife...is it to late to change my screen name to Archie bunker?

Jk, my friend,
Seriously thank you for the very esoteric post.

Crank the TV and crack a beer. The less you know, the less you fear.

You're welcome, I wouldn't be concerned if worlds collided saying the Archie I was referring to was Mr. Andrews then maybe you'd come out of your Bunker...

Be glad his last name isn't Anderson even though my last name is Smith.

Easy button from an easy chair... sounds like a boss does it not?

An easy chair is a recliner, archies chair was not a recliner. It did have buttons on it.
Buttons remind me of thread,I am wondering what my thread has to do with your buttons ??

If I have some how sewn my thread around your buttons, I apologize!

Eh, Just popping in and out of wormholes like any ol needle. I wouldn't be too concerned about the red thread that binds us all together whether with buttons or forums. Thats just called life... I

'm a recliner at this very moment no chair required.
