Strange looking cave in the middle of nowhere?

Ok so basically the coordinates on google maps/earth are 66°36'12.41"S, 99°43'14.86"E .

So what is this? It looks as it has an iron or steel top. It's rather strange. Sorry if it has been posted before but i did not find it. Share your thoughts?

And it's in Antartica which makes things even more interesting.

This was covered a while back. I will see if I can find it.

Have you checked for proximity to installations that may be in the area?
It is definately set in a protected niche in the rocks...kind of like some forgotten explorers tent....
Are you sure that is a metallic hood?

I for one do not think it is natural. I could be wrong, and I normaly am. We will never know unless somebody takes one hell of a road trip.

Iron or steel? or... maybe just dirty ice? Thats what I see, if you look at the shadows and other colours in the photo they all seem to be the same. I can see how you thought of iron or steel, but inorder for me to see the same I need to take it completely out of context and judge it solely on colour.

although having looked at it alittle more it does sort of look like a large riveted / rimmed ...thing. who knows, could be a downed aircraft for all we know.
