House heating with Waste Veg Oil

A wise man once said to me. "Prepare for winter in the Summer."

This thread is to brainstorm ways to heat your house with waste vegetable oil, as well as other free methods of heat. With the GOM disaster and the depression in full swing its going to be a difficult winter. Lets prepare for the cold now.

Question: Can a house heating oil furnace be converted to run on waste vegetable oil? Having driven my volkswagen pick-up truck all over the US on veggie oil . House heating oil furnaces run on diesel or house heating diesel fuel. Heating with WVO would of course lower the bills in a major way this winter My idea is also a wood burner for the house with a slow drip waste veg oil dripping onto the wood to make the wood last longer. With a wood burner , the filtering of the oil would be minimal.
How do you think this would work?
Are there any other ways to heat the house off the grid?

I think it would be more practical to just burn garbage and your own people waste.

Burning waste veg oil is free heat. This is not a SHTF scenario , waste veg oil is readily available at many restaurants and various other places and you can get as much as you want for free. Here is a video on converting a oil furnace to WVO burn. How much money can you save using this in the winter? ALOT.

Any other ways to heat a house for free ?
