aolsvc.news.aol.com...

and here's a tid bit from the article i found HIGHLY interesting...

Moore has enlisted former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo to help fight the movie's R-rating. A PG-13 rating could boost Fahrenheit's receipts 20%, IFC president Jonathan Sehring says.

hmm 20% MORE revenue! gee are we sure he's fighting it to make sure teenagers get to see his movie? 20% boost is a couple more million in moore bank account. which is ok as long as he was honest about it, which i dont believe he is.

and here's a clue why its rated R...

Moore's wife, producer Kathleen Glynn, says there are no plans to cut scenes from the movie, including a beheading and gruesome shots of dead Iraqis.

even adults on this site couldnt stomache watching the berg beheading...

and i loved the poll 44% thought he was self serving, 35% thought he was a good film maker. 18% said michael who? lol and 3 percent said he's entertaining and thats about it.

so almost half think he's self serving and a little over 1/3 thought he was important. i dont buy into polls but i think its amusing. apparently the majority of those polled on AOL dont like or havent heard of him or dont care about him.

The only reason why anyone cares about Moore is because he is currently bashing Bush. The guy is a dyed- in- the-wool socialist. He hates all Republicans. He only appeals to those that already hate Bush.

Anyway, my two cents on it.

Of course he wants an extra 20% voters, he wants to spread a message. This stuff may be grusome, but surely no more bloody than the stuff I see on the news about iraq everyday (burnt bodies, limbs you name it)

People have picked the convinient times to become offended by images from the war seeing as they have been on the news for the last year.
IMO, anyone using stupid enough to use AOL is probably stupid enough believe everything Bush says too.

but it didnt say voters, it said it could boost the receipts for the movie by 20% and 15 and 16 year olds cant vote anyway so i dont know what you're actually trying to say here.

care to clarify it for me? i'm honestly confused. those who are 15 or 16 might only be 16 or 17 by the time the election rolls around and by november this movie will be in walmart's discount bin. so him trying to get a PG-13 rating isnt going to produce 20% more voters as you think. not for this round of elections and even if bush wins (which i dont care about any longer) they cant vote him out the next time, this would be his second and final term.

i'm really trying to understand what you're saying but i just dont get it. did i miss something?

Alright they are not voters, obviously, that was a stupid thing to say. However it's still spreading the message right?

what message is that? moore's message? what can he show people that hasnt already been shown during the news or on the internet already? he's showing the same things but doing so with his own twist on it. its a two hour op-ed piece basically. i've SEEN his work before. its not creative, amusing or insiteful. its no different than any of film maker out there who just "knows" they have their finger on whatever pulse they're refering to.

anyone and i mean LITERALLY anyone can take footage, ask people questions and then edit the hell out of all this to suit their own agenda. this is NOT talent genius or skill. its no different than a poltician thats gives us their own version of how things are or should be. the funny thing is noone will realize that as they fatten his wallet. i think he's a genius in one respect, he's fooled people into forking over millions of dollars for his opinion, but rush limbaugh was doing that way before him so he's still not unique. he's just a capitalist using capitalism to make people believe what he beleives. no different from a TV evangalist, you know send me your money and you will be saved, same thing with him, buy my book or see my movie and see "the truth" and learn some"they" dont want you to know. its all hype over trying to get 20% more revenue at the box office, not his "message". he's like don king.

as said by someone else, those who hate bush are going to see this as they know it will make bush look bad. people jsut want to see or hear whatever reenforces what they want to believe.

it amazing how people who hate the guy and this war in iraq believe anything said negatively about him opr this war but if its positive....you question it. why wouldnt someone question EVERYTHING??? seriously.

Hey, Prankster,
MM is a joke. He thinks soooo much of himself, he thinks he can make $$$$ and get people to hate Bush. Tsk, tsk.
I doubt he will get even one more person to not vote for Bush.

The news is slanted and warped enough as it is. I con't need MM's view of anything to help me to see clearly

Interesting poll

Michael Moore Hates America

Michael Moore Hates America is a feature-length documentary that takes you across the country -- From Moore's "hometown" of Flint to Washington, DC to LA -- in search of the American Dream and holds Michael Moore's filmmaking tactics up to the light.
...
We'll deconstruct the genre of documentary film to show you how filmmakers can manipulate interviews and statistics to communicate a desired message, and then how the media runs with that message.
...
While it has its serious side,
Michael Moore Hates America is a hilarious romp through the myths about American life. It reduces silly conspiracy theories to rubble, challenges populist ideologies by putting them through uproarious tests and gets to the truth about Michael Moore's background, and his evolution into one of today's most prominent propagandists.

He is not trying to send a message, he is trying to make $. The one person who will make more money from the war will be Michael Moore. Yet he accuses the current administration of the same thing.

The thing that I find totally ironic is that Michael Moore said he didn't use the Nick Berg footage out of respect of his family. The thing is, this film was edited and in the can when Nick Berg was beheaded. He didn't use the Nick Berg interview because Berg was FOR the war in Iraq and he couldn't possible use THAT footage in his film could he? That would be showing two sides to the story and that just won't make $. Let's face it, Michael Moore needs to support his HUGE appetite for food, and he won't sell tickets that way.

82% know who he is?

Could 82% of Americans name the President?

Could 82% name the director of Star Wars?

Could 82% name ANY director?

Anyway, it's just an AOL poll. It's content driven. You likely have an interest in Mike Moore to click through to the article.

Meaning from the results, we can accurately say among aol users, those that HATE Micheal Moore are more interested in him than those that like him. (43:35)

If you ask me, I'd call it near OBSESSION.

I'm going to see the movie. I'm probably going to love it. Then I'm probably never going to think about it again except when someone threatened by Mike Moore brings it up.

Just thought of the perfect counter example: Left Wingers obsessed with Fox News or Rush Limbaugh...same thing. Now see where I'm coming from?

Put my name among those conservative-types who don't list to Rush and don't like him much. He is sooo full of himself.

Dear Uncle
,
I am thinking you know your niece would not say those things about YOU.
The MM in question was the Moore character
I thought it would be confusion. My bad.
We need more mirth around here, Uncle...dry your tears.

To avoid future confusion, you are MM. Mr Moore will be MMoore.

Well that's what I mean DTOM. A liberal is probably more obsessed with Rush Limbaugh than a conservative. And a conservative is probably more obsessed with Mike Moore than a liberal.

I don't like either one. At all. I quess I wans't clear enough, sorry.

What does that say about my politics?

I understood that DTOM. Doesn't say anything about your politics.

I was just commenting that I think people tend to be more forcefully anti-something than pro-something.

As a very general rule it would appear then that conservatives care more about Moore than liberals...and I gave Limbaugh as the counter example. That you don't even like Limbaugh (as a conservative) serves my point, since you clearly have strong feelings about Moore.

I don't think this is any big deal or great revelation. Conservatives routinely point out that libs sure like talking about Limbaugh or Fox News or Bush. Just as conservatives (that may not even like Bush that much) likely have STRONG feelings against Kerry.

S'all I meant. Sorry for the tangent.

i think there is a reason for those this. both persons mentioned are pretty extreme in their views speech and tactics.

i dont believe most people in general are concerned about a person with an opposing view however i do feel that there are those like moore and limbaugh who are justifyably "obsessed" about as you say for good reason, they are both presenting a view they feel is mainstream when they simply arent. i dont agree with rush anymore than i do moore. i think they are both far out there and full of their own #. its general their way or no way. they both make it sound like if things dont go the way they think it should the world is going to end in a fire ball and it will be the other sides fault.

they both take things out of context and make things seems worse than they are or better than they are to suit their own agenda. the only difference i see ebtween the two is rush does this on the radio for the most part and moore makes films. two different mediums, same tactics.

fear anger and emotion string pulling to get supporters to fatten their own wallets.

you take money out of the equation and they lose a lot of their motive to act this way.
