I'll start with the Tiger Maus...too heavy to cross any bridge and no protection for infantry attacks.

I'm going to have to go with the water baloon. lol just kidding

That is interesting. I would say suicide bombers. They are very popular yet not very effective.

Anything the Viet Cong carried before they were puppets of the NVA after 68.

Back in the early sixties they had some of the crappiest equipment known.

Poor buggers

You joking? As a weapon the suicide bomber may not do THAT much damage. But the psychological impact is huge. That there is someone willing to use themselves as a weapon is very scary. They're willing to kill themselves in order to kill. Takes fanaticism to a new level...

Probably the modern battleship. That or the rapier. I mean it wasn't very practical on the battlefield. Suicide bombers aren't that effective I agree.

the rapairs ok and battleships rock!!!!

Battle ships aren't needed anymore they are just an expensive launching platform the modern aircraft carrier took its place that's why the US Navy doesn't use battleships anymore it retired them in 1991. And the worst weapon of all time has to be that French made assault rifle that our G.I. used in WW1 not sure about the name though.

I must say that would be Canada's ultimate weapon, called Celine Dion, its just horible, makes your skin crawl and earsdrums pop, that howling cat sound would make a def person poke a hot rod in his ears to be sure he wouldn't turn hearing again

Well, I myself would say the rubber band... Yes, it is accurate and can fly a bit of a distance, but just does not cause too much damage.

Now, McDonalds is another one.... Yes, we have fattened up and slowed down the rest of the world, but it has almost made america the fattest in the world as well. We should rethink the strategy on that one....

Probably not the right kind of weapon, but deception has to be the ultimate weapon. With it you can get people to kill themselves and not have to worry about the clean up.

Well originally they were but Tet really wiped out the Viet Cong. They basically ceased to exist after all the casualties endured in the offensive, and had to be replenished with NVA irregulars. Then it became more of a tool for the North than a force of the South fighting for change.

I got to go search my stuff for some books on it, but I will u2u them when I find them.

I agree with WestPoint23, the worst has to be the French Chauchat, stamped metal so bad that you could not use parts from anothe gun for repair and what has got to be supreme stupidity for TRENCH WARFARE a magazine that had large openings cut in it so that it would fill up with dirt and mud.

Chauchat

The Lobster.
A slow tank equiped with giant steel claws to crush the enemy.
That turned out to be a terrible idea.

The worst infantry weapon I would agree with the Chauchau. The Italian Carcano would also qualify, my example, though fit for use by a gunsmith can't group smaller than 4" at 100 yds and has a horrible bolt cycle. The Japanese had a horrible sidearm (I forget its designation) but it's safety was worthless, the thing would fire due to a design flaw whenever the weapon was holstered.
