Illegals and the Apocolypse

The point of this thread is to show another side of the story to a VERY-FREAKING-HOT-SUBJECT. I am using the term "illegal" because that to me is the most recognizable term when discussing anything on the subject, it is obviously very broad and but it is a hook statement.

I don't like to stereotype, but I do. We all know that there are many illegals here in the USA of Hispanic origin. We also know that a lot of these people are "mooching" off legal American citizens by receiving welfare, child support, healthcare ect. ect. These peoples children are ultimately influenced by their parents actions and we can't say for sure yet, but most likely follow a similar path as the parents.

What a lot of people also might realize but not really bring up is how extremely religious these illegals are. I know many families that are once a day church people, and an even greater number will at least make it out for Sunday service.

I work with Hispanics and one day I asked "what do you guys talk about in church". Among the "values" that are generally taught in Christian churches, I was told that they talk about Revelations A LOT. These people truly believe that the "signs in the sky" and many other seals from Revelations are coming true. They also feel that it is coming very soon. They are told that as long as they are faithful to the word of God and Jesus that they will be saved before the time for destruction comes.

So based on the connections I have made, is it wrong to say that these people are not just lazy free loaders. This to me shows how very afraid people are of what is to come according to the bible, how could they get the will power to go out and learn to speak english, go to school, put effort into becoming an actual citizen when they truly believe that the whole world is at imminent risk of destruction.

I feel that this could be a very tricky problem to squash for the "elite" if it were to start becoming public knowledge. These people aren't in cults, they are going to a church just like cindy and bob from the country club. What do you think the majority of Americans would actually think of the whole immigration issue when the realize that most illegals aren't just lazy and here to take our jobs, they are here to let there children have a nice life before Armageddon starts?

You do indeed like to stereotype - *Snip*...an unfortunate combination that prevents you from having any influence on other people.





Nothin' is gonna happen in 2012, so these biased demographics don't matter.

but it sounds like you're rationalizing
their illegal presence here with religion.
And that won't fly with me.
They can worship and practice religion
in Mexico, just as good as they can
do it in El Paso.

I think you missed the jist of it, ... it seemed the OP was Trying to dispell common stereotypes if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, alot of hispanic are very, very religious, but I don't think armageddon really comes into play during day to day decisions.

Right, like I clarified, I don't like to have to stereotype but in this case many of the things I have pointed out are true.

For the record, I could care less if every person from Mexico came to the United States tomorrow. I love the people. BUT from the people I have personally talked to, they do take into consideration that the world is coming to a close EVERY DAY. I was actually pretty shocked to here that coming from a person that: has no knowledge of secret societies, plots to conspire against the mass population, astronomy, ect ect.

The lady I talked to said she wasn't scared as much as anxious. She told me why they should bust their asses even harder when all these signs of revelation are coming true. She told me that the people that go to her church are very steadfast to there beliefs and that they don't forget the things they just learned in church.

There are a lot of illegal aliens in the US that are not Mexican. This is a pet peeve of mine. People are ignorant to the number of South Americans, Indians, Europeans and Canadians in the states.

I wouldn't call Mexicans lazy either. They came here like your forefathers to make a better life for the families. Unless of course you are a native yourself.

Talk to people and educate yourself outside of the MSM garbage that the average Joe regurgitates!

Perhaps you didn't understand my point of view, as I agree with yours. I didn't call any Mexican lazy, I said it is a stereotype and in many cases it IS true. I don't want to turn this into a whos right and whos wrong thread but I can tell you out of my many jobs, and the many people I have worked with, not all hispanics are the hard working 3am-8pm workers you so hear of in this debate. No disrespect to them either I am one lazy worker as well! This thread is an attempt to explain why so many people have these stereotypes, I know after my conversation with the lady I talked to about the church many of my point of views have changed mainly because I didn't think anyone outside the ATS forums cared about the Apocalypse

Also, where in my thread did any hint of MSM garbage come up? All of what I am discussing is what I have seen personally and been told personally by, yup, hispanics.

Immigrants have been the strength of the US for centuries. The most recent immigrants come from all over the world although some groups are larger than others.

It's not just Hispanic people. I used to work temp jobs quite a bit, and many of the white regular employees and even the management at many companies steadfastly believe that the events in Revelations are coming true. There's no point in trying to have an objective conversation with them about it, because everything they think is shaped by the end of times as their preacher has told them.

Spot on. Whats sad is that she told me that in the Spanish Bible its not "Revelations" its "Apocalypse" and she didn't even know the actual meaning of the word. According to their preacher they need to come to church as much as they can, donate 10 % to the church, and that the end is going to be full of destruction. They will be saved BEFORE this even however.

I tried explaining to her that the concept of hell is a made up one and that the "unveiling" will be a chance for people to either make the change to a new life or be stuck in this hell we are still in.

Why would this thread not be about the teachings of the church? And less about who listens, or practices their beliefs. If you say that Mexicans, and the country club folks are hearing the same thing, does it matter in what language they hear it? Or is it the message itself.

You can pretty much guarantee that it isn't just Christians thinking that end is near. I don't care what race you are, where you came from, or where your going, but a persons ignorance about who, and what, and where and when, it was keeps me up at night.

The concern about those that believe or are hoping and or waiting for the apocalypse, will bring together different people from all over the world, its not the race, but their belief in the Apocalypse that will either bring the world together, or tear it apart.

I'm sure other races aren't thinking that they need a green card to get into heaven.

Then to say that all illegal aliens are Hispanic basically what about the russian spies they just caught. Then just to refer to people as (these people) just simple flat out makes you nothing but a racist. People like you need to just leave things alone like every other race then whites in America are doing wrong because whites, black, hispanic, Russian, jews, it really don"t matter are all doing the same thing some of them are doing right things and some doing wrong and that's happens in every race...

I get the point you are trying to make. Truly, I do. However, despite the religious beliefs of ANY ethnic group, If they are entering a country under illegal premises, then they are still breaking the law.

You will have a hard time trying to convince people on this site that just because an illegal immigrant has religious convictions, we should cut them slack because of their christian based morals.

If they entered the country without going through the proper channels to do so legally then, their morals are quite conflicting with their beliefs.

Just my opinion and yes...I'm more than aware of what it's worth.

Very insightful, and I do I agree a lot. The reason I bring this thread up is not to put down or up any race by ANY means. It is apparent to me that the responses to this thread are still evidence of just how controversial this subject is. I'd like to repeat this 100 times throughout the thread, I am not racist and I believe in peace by all means.

I am using hispanics as my actual analysis and that is only because I just recently had a conversation very spiritual provoking conversation with a manager of mine who is from the dominican republic.

There is an enormous division amonst immigrants.

There are those that migrated and assimulated to this country legally. They use their own social security #, they work, pay taxes and raise their family as a majority of americans do.

Then you have others that snuck across the borders and could give a da*# about assimulating with the culture of the country they voluntarily made their new home under illegal circumstances.

Then, they turn around and seem offended when citizen speak out about the financial burden the illegals are putting on social structure of the country they illegally entered.

I have no problem with ANY race of ANY color...period. this isn't a race war in my mind. It is common sense people!

It's a matter of doing the right thing and ya know what? A majority of Americans/British/Irish/Germans/....etc. know that it isn't right nor, legal to enter and live in a country without going through the proper channels....
