Would you chose to work at Area 51 if you had the opportunity?

Let's have a fun thread on ATS. If any alien and Area 51 fan had the chance to work at Area 51 base, Would you? Can you imagine someone asking you the chance to work at the base?

Would you?

Yes, despite the stresses that may come with that, you never know if you might be in the right place at the right time to be privy to something awesome and surreal...

As Keys said to Elliott in the movie E.T., "I've been waiting for this my whole life..."

I wouldn't mind working at Area 51. Seeing all the glamor and mysteries at the secret base.

You know the majority of people who have worked at Area 51 have become ill or died from being exposed to "who knows what" (since it's a national security issue to release that info). The government only admitted to the base during a lawsuit by the families of some of the dead and dying "workers".

Just something to keep in mind . . .

Nope, I wouldnt........

Mostly because i think it would be a very very boring place......Anything that was ever there is long gone by now, and anything that could ever possibly be "out of this world" or "tipy top secret" wont be there, that place is a diversion.....

If i was the government id have my UFOs somewhere well away from Area 51, but its a nice distraction

I'd work there and blow the whistle harder than anyone has.
Go ahead kill me, I dont care.
I would take on for the team if it meant exposing an ounce of truth.

With my luck there is a Burger King there and I would be the fry cook. But Yes I would like to work there. "Hey Jim, the little Grey who ordered the Happy Meal wants extra fries and a Milk Shake"

Believe it or not:
I actually turned down a job at area -51
1998:
The job was through Whackenhut security out of las vegas. I was to be paid $ 1,400.00 dollars a week for a four day work week, ( not bad money for 1998) 12 hr days, paid uniform allowance, paid dental ,medical and perdiem when living at the site.
My assignment would have been to drive a white jeep around the property at Groom Lake and respond to gound sensors set off by outside intruders. I would have been armed with an M-16 and a 9mm side arm. Wear Black BDU's and act professionally.

I would have worked 4 days on and 3 days off. I did not have to live in the area but I would be penalized if I was later for work and fired if it happened frequently.

I selected to go with job offer #-2 , Working in Aero-Space Launching Satellites. I am still working in Aero-Space. I often look back and wonder what I might have seen if I did take the Groom Lake Job. I know part of the requirement was to keep my mouth shut about what I did see.
For some people that is almost impossible to do. I find it more intriguing to keeping the secret instead of bragging about what I do for a living. People noramally think you are lying anyway to play up you job status. .KMG

I wouldn't work there - heard too many stories about people dying that worked there, from chemicals they couldn't even find out what they were.

NO. ACK

Unfortunately yes, My need for knowledge would far override common sense, and the need for freedom.

Show the world tons of the unknown Sci-fi technologies that Real World is more sci-fi than any sci-fi stories

EG&G had the security contract in 1999. Wackenhut had the NTS contract. ASI had the TTR contract. So I don't think you had a chance to see the base.

Regarding the base being a diversion, this is getting tiring debunking such nonsense. Perhaps we should start a sticky thread and anyone who wants to post such nonsense can just append a new reply to that thread.

When I was a kid that was my dream job, not so much the m16 part just being part of a top secret facility. Even if the job was boring I wouldn't be sitting here wondering what's in there.

It sounds like you had two career choices that were excellent though, either way those are better than the average job.

I would take the area 51 job if it was offered, or Fort Knox. Anything cool like that really.

I wouldn't mind working there. Heck, it's a job. But as far as "knowing and seeing" anything, things are so compartmented that you'd essentially only know and see what pertinant to your job, i.e. Need to Know.

Would I?

Yes, IF I was offered a job with the clearance level needed for accessing, viewing and studying the hidden material and objects inside the base.

It would probably be quite a boring job at times but at least they make sure the food is good. There is a bar of course, and a bowling alley and softball/baseball fields.
