BREAKING NEWS: N. Korea threatens a 'physical response' to U.S. military drills in region

This doesn't sound good, and could be the start of something that we've all been expecting to happen.

N. Korea threatens 'physical response' to U.S. military drills

Country claims its sovereignty will be violated by maneuvers

HANOI, Vietnam — North Korea threatened Friday to mount a "physical response" to United States' military drills in the region.

Its government claimed that the exercises with South Korean forces would violate its sovereignty.

The statement came as top American and North Korean diplomats were meeting face-to-face Friday at an Asian security conference.

BTW, I agree that SK and the US are really trying to push for a response..

Just like every month, when North and South Korea meet along the border and scream at each other for an hour then leave.

This is just more of the same, if they were going to do some thing, it would have been done. Not threatened.

Only difference is this month, they decided to nerd rage at the USA as well.

Ya know, North Korea has been threatening this and that for a few years now.

I think their bark is bigger than their bite. They are just sending out empty threats trying to keep the US at bay.

Its only a matter of time before we topple their sad excuse for a country.

NK reminds me of the rat dog next door, sit there barking its head off but really non threatening. Although, on occasion, Precious bites, but then usually gets its butt kicked, or runs off before Zeus gets to him in time.

Yeah North Korea takes the American threat seriously . It's the American war machine thats doing all the threating here . They are provoking the situation not NK . Call it for what it is !

The leadership in North Korea needs to just put their head down and go in to seclusion if they want to survive the next 24 months. Any "physical" attack on SK or the US will lead to a war that NK won't survive. The combat abilities that now separate NK and the US are unimaginable to NK.

i have to say, the civilians there don't get fox or cnn. they get what kimmy wants them to hear since 19f'n53!

they will kill themselves. the military will be crazy, we will have to starve them if we can stop them.

huge loss of life in NK.

this is no joke if it goes this far, just can't take out dear leader.

In the midst of all the things going on, it just seems tho this time it's different.

It could just be another verbal assault, or this time they mean it.

If USA joint SK agains NK ... i see the bear CHINA making her move
no army CANT match them ... its like their number is almost the same in their army than all the armies worldwide together ...
USA should get out from there .... the first thing that NK or china will strike is the US bases in SK ...

It's scary to think that China has the largest army in the world, and that North Korea's leader looks as if he'd use a nuke pronto if this situation were to escalate.

I know China is an ally, but they've become more hostile, and louder recently.

Where are the war vessels now, at this hour ? Have they already arrived? Is it possible that North Korea struck a ship today, In any case, before the exercises start ?

I think even China realizes that, ultimately, a united Korean Peninsula is safer for the world.

Does that mean they'll let N. Korea dig their own hole?

It could. I predict that if, and that's a BIG "if," N. Korea attacks S. Korea or US forces, China will watch N. Korea fall and won't intervene whatsoever.

China has embarked on an economic plan which needs roughly 25 years to completely overtake the US on all fronts (military, economy, science). They're almost there, and moving faster everyday. They're not going to allow something like a Korean conflict 2.0 to derail their overall plans.

Haha ur kidding right, that's what they thought about Vietnam too, all their technology didn't help them there either. They're not just gonna run over NK like they ran over Iraq. NK is mountains (Afghanistan, really doing well there aren't you?), jungles (Vietnam), you name it. Not miles and miles of desert. Not to forget that China already spoke out against the clear provocation also.

It's about time the USA stops it's military industrial based economy and wake up in the modern world, if they would spend only 10% of their (known) military budget on their own economy, im pretty sure they would be able to fix the county overnight, and there wouldn't be any need to wage war all the time.

You know, none of this is breaking news because they pull this crap almost every 2 weeks!!!!!

This is a joke.

The situation is more complex than it was before. The NK gov is out of cash, the people are starving, some even risking their lives to defect to China (who promptly returns them to be executed). These new sanctions will be absolutely crippling to this country.

Back someone into a corner, and you'd be surprised what they are capable of. Another armed conflict seems not only likely, but almost certain...NK is running out of options. Kim Jong Il would rather attack SK than face the utterly humiliating aspect of permanently decommissioning their nuclear facilities. Better to go out in a final blaze of defiant glory, than pleading on your knees cap in hand before the "American Imperialists".
