But I could see how, with the missile now gone, it looks like a UFO was here and then went into hyperdrive and poofed out of the sky - looks awesome.

See how the exhaust trail poofs out into that wispy veil at the end? I think you're seeing where the missile's exhaust went through a supercritical layer and caused ice crystal precipitation using the exhaust as nucleation material. This is what happens when you get persistent spreading contrails, AKA 'chemtrails'.

what time of day was it taken?

not knowing to much about the particular image, i would say it does look like some sort of tailings, mixed in air currents, taken at either dusk or dawn when the suns light has more atmosphere to go through giving that appearance. but again, pictures can be very deceiving, even if you know all the particulars.

Living in southern california, I've seen a handful of these though the years... I've never understood why the trails zig-zag as they do but I've always assumed they don't start out that way, I think its a dispersal thing... Possibly something having to do with the change in pressure along the path due to altitude (totally random guess)...

But I've seem them enough times that I don't think anything unusual about them when they do occur... My $.02...

I have personally witnessed the exact same occurrence right after the space shuttle launched, here in Florida.

Im no expert but even I know its a missile launch after effects/clouds. Come on man really your posting this seriously??

The spiral, china ufo and this thing are all remnants of launches. My question would be, wtf are they launching for and why.










With all of these countries testing missile defense systems, i'd drop the ufo id and prepare for war.

HOWEVER.. remember the Roswel incident? Aliens...? Funny how that seemed to happen after the use of nuclear weapons. As if the space guys return when it seems like we are going to kill ourselves?
