This forum seemed to be the ideal place to point out that a newer version of the Mozilla Firefox Web Browser is ready for download. Nothing has helped my computer more than switching over from IE! Check it out. You'll like it.

Firefox .9

New in this release are:
* - Extension Manager
* - Theme Manager
* - Data Migration/Import
* - New Visual Theme
* - Better Bookmarks
* - Better Search
* - Smaller Download
* - Online Help

Yup..its great...iv been using the .9 Release Candidate for about a week before the final release came out...and i lvoe it. I updated to the final release of .9 and its flawless. But i really hated the defualt theme. So i got Qute from the original theme from .8 and below. This isnt gonna be a long lived release tho...Release 1.0b comes out next month....then the Final Final Release would be about 2 months after that. But almost there

.8 worked so well I could not imagine what they could have improved. I downloaded the new one for a friend and decided to upgrade mine since I had it on hand.

The new default skin was pretty lack-lustre; I grabbed a couple of new ones at random. Maybe some enterprising individual will bang out an ATS theme for Firefox. Wouldn't it be great to have matching color schemes and little magnifying glasses over the buttons?

Deny Defaults!

Okay, who can we recruit to do this???

Just DLd & installed 0.9 -- so much faster on load!!
I miss some of my extensions that haven't carried over yet, but the important ones are there (AdBlock & Googlebar) ...now, someone needs to get to work on DeepestSender.
Haven't had a chance to play with everything yet, but I do notice improvements. I look forward to 1.0 & the final release .... this thing just keeps getting better and better!!

Have you guys tried MyIE2 so far I like it better than firefox but haven't tried the .9 version yet. I'm going to download and give it a spin.

I love this broswer. I've also been using Firefox (nee bird) for ages.

I fully expect IE7 to have poor implementations of many of the great features Firefox does.

It's funny you should ask about a theme, I just started trying to find out how to do themes

I just installed .9 and it seems to be a lot faster than IE or MYIE2 but I still like the features of MYIE2. and the pop up blocker seems to work better on myie2. Either way both of the broswers blow away IE hands down. I will never go back

I tried it.... but it blocks the images of the popups..
Tried the link below.. but couldn't see the pictures, if you click "see the slideshow" in the "This week in pictures" banner

msnbc.msn.com...

mozilla--> removed....IE settings put back...

You have to tell it which sites you want it to not block! There's an icon at the bottom left of the window when it's blocked a site. Click on it to choose "allow"

Here's my advice

Download Firefox0.9 -> install -> learn how it works -> sit back in amazement

Yeah, my boss recently told me to give Firefox a try. I must say so far I'm very pleased by the experience.

Eats HTML code WAY much faster than IE, and has a built-in pop-up blocker.
What more can you ask for? Skins? That's awesome, I didn't even know you could skin it.

Give it a go, this browser truly rules all

To make it go faster type about:config into the address bar. The go down til you see nglayout.initialpaint.delay..then change the default integer...which is 250 i think....too 1. Then itll render pages faster.

Thanks for the tip DLM, but I can't seem to find the nglayout you're talking about. I only have to entrys that starts with ng, and none of them is the one you're talking about.

Also, have you guys noticed how sometimes it displays post on ATS weirdly? Like with theses huges useless blank space before posts?
