What a cool image. Look at those storms lined up in both hemispheres. Because of the lack of land the ones in the southern hemisphere stand out
more. Very nice. I'd like to see a close up image of that typhoon. It must be impressive.
Thank goodness I don't live on Kyushu anymore. I've been through my fair share of typhoons while living in Japan, but this one takes the cake.
That is definitely one powerful storm system.
According to this story the strongest storm ever recorded had wind speeds of 213mph (sustained) in 1961 in a typhoon but these were just estimates and
apparently there is a claim that speeds were over estimated for Typhoons from the 1940's to 1960's. Seems the accepted record is 190mhh. So this
storm is about one of the strongest in history.
