All you people posting to the OP offering news stories and tid bits and facts to refute his mocking post are even more hair brained than he is.

Can't you see he's just trying to ruffle everyone's feathers? Let him drown in his ignorance, learn to brush off people like this guy.

Your only throwing fuel on his fire

Lalalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

And, I live between Gulfport and Biloxi.

You obviously missed this little tidbit of local news for today!

Millions of DEAD Fish Wash Ashore

GULFPORT, Miss. -- Something besides oil washed ashore along a section of beach in Gulfport this week.

Sooooo, those of us living here should not be concerned, huh?

Oh, by the way, the stench is horrendous!

I have seen some threads that i consider completely over the top fear mongering... the whole "ocean floor collapse sparking a methane explosion that will send a mega tsunami around the word that will kill everyone" argument!

But i find your thread equally silly...

"Everything is fine... just a few oily birds... the oil industry loves us and will make everything better"

Hmm... I think not!!

You have, rather than present a ballanced opinion, simply rushed to the other end of the scale...

I'm affraid that the truth is probably somewhere between a few oily birds and a mega tsunami.

Peace

I've come to the conclusion that the self-loathing liberal America-haters on here are never going to give it up. They'll nurse this disaster to the very last drop and then some.

Rahm Emanuel summed up the mindset of these people quite nicely in his now-famous soundbite, which liberals would never quote themselves.

Nicca,
did anything die at all?
Was there or is there any stress over this event?
If so then that is too much death or stress, but ok we will call you the winner.
What a sad strange thing to be considered a win, it really seems we all lost.

Play nice or not at all kids.

Please argue the points made. Any further bashing will result in thread closure.

Exactly!! There is so much still going on that many people don't know. Do ya think we're gonna hear it on the MSM? I think not. Just ask the people who are getting ill from the poison, the people who are witnessing crop damage, as well as oily rain, I could go on and on..........

It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Relying on the MSM is utter nonsense. Watch all the youtube videos that present otherwise (from the real people).

It is you (in a nice way), that needs to be more informative and proactive in finding a conclusion that has a right balance.

Good luck. I will not berate you any further.

Please get a grip on what is really happening and stop looking for a way to say "I told you so" when you can't tell anybody so.

I don’t know if it’s ignorance or pure hubris and ego that would lead a person to find some sense of personal satisfaction regarding a tragedy that has killed countless animals, birds and fish, 19 human beings including one suicide, and destroyed businesses, and the livelihoods of thousands upon thousands of people.

Not to mention that no, the well is not contained, the cap is at best a temporary solution and the steps to actually kill the well are well off from achieving that objective with no certainty that they will.

Not only is the OP not right, he appears to be not right!

You must do a little more homework on this subject. Maybe you don't live down by the Gulf, and I pray you don't.
Many people dothough, and their way of life has been changed, possibly forever.
Maybe you're afraid but still hope for the best. Do some research, (just a little), that doesn't involve the main stream media and you will find some very scary truths about what is actually happening.
Know this... what you see on television is very controlled.
Watch this if you haven't already seen it, and good luck. Peace.

op, it takes a lot to say them three words "i was wrong" good for you. I am with you, for more than once i have had to say them. It is nice to see someone say them and admit it, it takes courage, integrity, and willpower. bravo for saying it. i wish i could say i was wrong. wrong about the spill being unstoppable, wrong that it is all part of master plan, wrong that it can not be stopped, wrong that it will take years and even decades to finely be cleaned up. wrong that you can still see signs of the spill, wrong that fish and sea life have died by thousands if not hundreds of thousand. wrong that it has coast just as many jobs and lively hoods, and finely, wrong about the oil coming up from the sea floor well i can say i was wrong about how far out it was, it is 1.83 miles from the well not 7, or 20 miles like i thought it was, and it might not be BP's fault, it could be an abandon well. then again, i could be wrong.

Could be we are dealing with a silly troll. It's hard to tell. I thought I had an article bookmarked and now I can't find it.
Maybe someone can help. It was called "How to know you are being lied to by the media." Maybe not in those exact words, though.
It would really help if you read it and learned it. I'll look for it because it will really help.

Just wondering if you could go ahead and list some of these hardcore environmentalist for us. I am pretty sure that they have actually cleaned up 75% of this spill. I think they didn't put the decimal point in the right place. In fact this is what they should have said. We have cleaned .75% of the oil not 75%. It is not even possible for them to have cleaned that amount of oil in such a short amount of time. Just remember this just because they don't see oil on the surface trust me its still there. I would suggest in the future you do a bit more research instead of going by what the MSM tells you. I am not bashing you in anyway I am just stating the obvious so that next titrying to help you out me you don't have to suffer the the onslaught from the ATS community. I am just trying to help you out.

I also was surprised how out of hand this oil spill seemed to get.

I do not think it was the grand disaster they made it out to be.

Yes it is bad for any oil to spill into the ocean for a length of time but Mother Nature is more powerful than we give her credit for and she will ALWAYS prevail.

Hopefully people down there will get their jobs back on track and life can return to normal sometime in the near future.
