Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright

dailycaller.com

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

This isn't breaking news to anyone who has followed the story from the start, but newly released "JournoList" e-mails show the major people from the MSM plotting to cover up the story during the elections. Which is interesting considering they seem to be doing the same thing right now concerning stories like ACORN and The Black Panthers DOJ case.

In the article, the author Johnathan Strong explained "Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic all took part. I think its pretty obvious now that its even more widespread than that.

Just look at all the stories that the media ignores now and then claims they never heard of them?

There is another good article on this:

www.salon.com...

Journolist scandal: Liberals planned open letter

Tucker Carlson's "The Daily Carlsoner" has published another piece of stunning investigative journalism, by which I mean "someone has forwarded them another Journolist thread."

Journolist was an email listserv made up of hundreds of liberal commentators and journalists. Its existence made conservatives very mad, because they were not allowed to join it.

This series of emails is even more explosive than the ones that took down Dave Weigel. This one proves that there was a vast, left-wing conspiracy to call Republicans racist and force everyone to stop talking about Reverend Jeremiah Wright in 2008.

The media doesn't have to "plot" to call some Republicans racist. Some actually are.

As long as there have been political parties each side has always found ways to criticize the other.

I personally don't find Rev. Wright to be particularly racist, although he obviously has some complaints about some white people. You'd have to be blind, deaf and dumb not to realize that some of us do hate African Americans and/or other minority groups. Other people disagree with me. That's their right. Wright's comments have certainly received plenty of coverage from the press. Obama stopped going to his church because of them. There has been no cover-up.

There are also racists who are Democrats or members of other parties that's true. Nobody's covering that up either. "If the shoe fits..."

I've seen this now on several websites and cable news stories. Now we are going to get 24 hours of whiney hand-wringing from addled Lefties about the unfairness of the story and how it was "timed" to distract people from some wonderful new piece of.. err .. program that the Soetoro Regime is going to foist on us. Anything to avoid addressing the facts. Wright is a psychopath; Barry could not have listened to this goon for several years without being tainted; and the Leftist press wanted to save his bacon.

Kind of like hiding the fact that Robert Byrd was a major player in the KKK, and also a major player in the Democrat Party?

Calling republicans rascist sounds like a good 2012 campaign strategy.

Call them that now.

Build up pressure.

Step forward as the "turn the other cheek" guy.

Get re-elected.

Go back to driving us further into the ground.

I am pretty sure the whole "race thing" is played out. Americans just aren't buying the tripe anymore.

Old ideas from old hippies clawing for one last gasp of power. Pathetic.

They didnt hide it. They praised him for "apologizing" and held him up as some great reformed klansman hero for us all. Then after the great apology they just didnt talk about it.

A klansman in the ranks of one side is an isolated incident and wholly forgivable as long as he apologizes. An insensitive joke by some page on the other side is damning of the whole lot of them and nothing short of public flogging will make it right.

The punchline is while morons waste time over this stuff every last one of us is being flogged to a pulp.

Seriously this isn't a partisan war
because i'm pretty sure the right is in on it

from Fox recruiting Glenn Beck and Beck acting like an idiot to political figures in the right portraying themselves as racists.

Seriously, the right is in on it
Obama wants to destroy the right, after all it's mostly the right that is anti big-govt.

Most liberals when they speak, they are not at all progressive.
These days, everyone is an idiot!

But my main point is that yes, they are trying to make the right look like racists however... the right is in on it!

The right is PRO big government.
They just cover it up as big 'privatized' corporate welfare.

Big right wing corporate Pentagon corruption police state.

And racism has been deep in the heart of the Republican base for decades.

Why is it such 'news' now?

Right wing doublespeak.

Clearly the difference now is someone finally got proof. Anyone involved should resign immediately.

I knew about Wright years before I ever heard of Obama.

I got curious about a church near where I work and looked it up on the Internet. This was in about 2003 I think. It turned out to be a Blacks only Christian Church. Of course there is no such thing as a real one Race only Christian Church so I did a search. The next thing I found was Wrights church.

The front page at that time was a letter written by Wright. It stated categorically that its members loyalties were first to Africa, second to the Black Race and then to its form of Christianity.

Obama attended for 20 years. Listened to this for 20 years and then he pretends he did not know? I would have voted for him had that not come out when it did. I was falling for the idea a Black President might help unite our country.

What did we get? The most divisive President possible. His Administration plays the Race Card at every level, on any topic. This is one sick human being. I thought Bush was bad but now not only do we have a man and I use the word man loosely, who continues most of the failed policies he pretended to oppose, but he tears the country apart at the seams.

Then he praises Byrd, who at the age of 47 led the movement against the Civil Rights Act after being a KKK leader for his whole adult life. This person is insane.

Now I hear this morning he pissed off the other 7 members of the G8. They all decided to return to fiscal responsibility to fix things and he demanded they keep spending. Now the UK, our wonderful friends think he has turned on them. What kind of an idiot takes the bust of Winston Churchill that was a gift to the American People and not him and wraps it up and sends it back to the UK with a note he does not want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is not only trying to tear us apart internally, he is trying to make our enemies friends and our Allies enemies. I think I know who he is now.

from some of the post here, as well as many others spread throughout ATS, one could ,based upon those post, rightly make the following assumptions.

conservatives by their nature , are mostly white, mostly men, mostly middle or upper class and mostly racist. ( in some form or another)
liberals by their nature are mostly a minority, mostly middle to lower middle class, mostly young, and by their definiton unable to be racist.

So if one becomes a liberal, one automatically negates the racism question. Simple but effective

lol Yes! Throw that book as far away as you can. It will steal your soul. It gives names to those dark places all altruist fear. It gives voice to those feeling of unease and doubt that come when reciting the catechisms of the altruist theology, but most of all it will change you.

This is untrue, firstly there are many independants that are conservatives, most if not almost all libertarians are conservatives and libertarians do not group people like that by definition.

Although liberals aren't racist, as you generalize, alot of them do hate religious people, alot do hate conservatives, pro-lifers, and many will follow Obama jumping down an active volcano.

I'm sorry but the grass is NOT greener.

I have a few examples of how these plots have been put in to practice. Have you noticed how these alleged paragons of journalism stay ignorant of all the stories that might possibly expose their hypocrisy?

In both cases, "I didn't know". Uh, huh......Right...

Why do they not know all these things about Obama? The answer, they didn't ask! They were too busy attacking anyone who tried to find out.

Like most things with racial politics, the emotions distract from the issue at hand. As I posted on another thread, evidence that elements in the media conspired to help Obama get elected is as necessary as evidence that the sky is blue.

The important thing I take from this story is this. The left-wing media is perfectly willing to throw an accusation of racism simply to change a dialogue they do not like. This not only is unjust to who they might throw such an accusation at, but it also is unjust to anyone who brings to light a legitimate concern on race, as now, any accusation of racism must first be vetted for political concerns as much as finding of fact.
