Video Proof The NAACP Awards Racism –2010

biggovernment.com

We are in possession of a video from in which Shirley Sherrod, USDA Georgia Director of Rural Development, speaks at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia. In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.

It looks like Mr.Breitbart made good on his promise. The video does show what seems to be pretty blatant racism and a crowd of approving NAACP members.

The video shows USDA official Shirley Sherrod telling a crowd of NAACP members how proud she is of herself for racially discriminating against a white farmer. This isn't the name calling type of racism, but actually using power to discriminate against people because of their skin color.

Does anyone think the MSM will cover this? Not a chance in hell. In a week all the major "journalists" will be shrugging their shoulders and claiming they never heard about it.

I'm kinda sick of the race hype in the MSM not to mention here on ATS.

In the past couple of weeks there have been an inane amount of race threads, saying this group is racist, no this group is obviously racist, and don't forget this group, they are the real racists.

For all the people of ATS, claiming to be free thinkers, quick to deny ignormace, its a shame to see people who are supposedly "enlightened" to the ploys of "TPTB" falling for the same crap as the average Faux new viewer.

So in the past year not only has the US been further divided by "tea parties" and "obamanation", now we have hyped racism to further divide.

I've said it before, deny ignorace...embrace ignorance...does anyone know the difference anymore?

What are you saying exactly? That we should put our heads in the sand and ignore threats to our freedom and dignity? We're going backwards in this country and all you can do is lob insults about "faux news"? You're a parody of yourself and you don't even realize it.

Well, one thing's for sure now, I no longer intend to join the NAACP.

Oh yeah, I can't join anyway. Something about my race or something...

This is not about race. It is about social classes.

As long as I am forced to check a race box on a job application, there will be racism.

I could, but never would (join, that is).

If this woman were white and the farmer was black, I can't imagine that there wouldn't be a strong outcry against the racism.

Hype? Are you serious?

Here was have a woman on camera claiming she didn't help a white man on purpose. Using terms as "his own" , and "his people", she makes it quite clear that she is/was just as bigoted as those she appears to despise.

Imagine, just freaking imagine, if this was a WHITE official saying this about a black farmer! There would be riots within hours.

Racism isn't hype, it's real, and it's a many way street these days.

That piece of video was very disturbing to me. This woman needs to be fired immediately and this sort of behavior should not be tolerated from our public servants..

I am not a racist , But I can imagine that if a white man was recorded making those same statements the NAACP would be up in arms demanding swift termination and Al Sharpton would be on the MSM asking for a public apology.

This just goes to show that its not just deranged caucasions who subscribe to this sort of backwards thinking.

I look forward to the day when all of us move beyond this ignorant stage of development in our HUMAN RACE.

respectfully,

~meathead

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Everything seems to be about race these days. You know what this video actually proves? It proves that certain groups would accuse the other of what they're doing so no one is the wiser.

I'm sick of this crap. Our government is being hijacked by racist idiots, ou grass roots efforts are being co-opted by racist idiots, our media is perpetuating racist idiots....If it is any wonder why the world thinks Americans are the most racist people on Earth, this is why. Never mind the FACT to the contrary, lets just go along with fringe groups who are taking over everything mainstream people do.

We need to stop giving these dirt bags our time, our efforts, and our minds.

Yes I borrowed my avatar from the site...Just to drive the point home.

I usually try not to get involved in these race threads, because it never ends pretty.

Quote me on that.

With that said, as strong as the NAACP has become, it should be in THEIR best interests if they took a long deep look at what their duty is, and that is to make sure that people are ALL treated equally, not just one race over the other, or this race over that, or this race isbetter than that, and that this race deserves this more than that race because that race has been taking crap from the other race longer than other races have been taking crap from other races(out of breath). IT IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE.

People(such as this woman in this video) who are in such positions to actually do good for race relations, should not be engaged in these types of behaviour, especially since they are wanting to talk about 'equality'.

This lady didnt want to help the white man because of her own prejudices,
and refused to help a family because of the color of their skin. If this lady was in any form of government, she would have been committing political suicide so to speak, and could have probably started something MUCH worse out of just by saying "I didnt help them because they were not my color". These people in power sometimes dont realize HOW MUCH POWER THEY HAVE, and that anything they say, can spark or ignite chaos in their own streets.

You cant expect to get past these race issues if you keep bringing race into it. The only way to solve the race problems in this country is to treat EVERY CITIZEN equally. Not one race over the other, or vice versa, it just cant work that way. It keeps the people divided, and maybe that is what they want because they seem to making pretty good money off of these race issues.

if what she says is true she should be taken to court. It was illegal. you can't refuse anyone based on the color of their skin. I've done volunteer work for years. The law is pretty freaking clear about that.

IF?

It states in the OP that she holds an appointed position at the USDA.

Even though she is obviously racist I believe the following is what is happening during the speech.

She shows the audience the long way black Americans have come being able to be in position of power to decide the faith of the people that once believed themselves to be superior to blacks. She indicates that she did help him to a certain extend but did not put in all efforts. (which in the way she tells it is quite racist and should never be any ground for decision making for a government official)

Looking at the audience she is speaking to you would imagine that she might think that her racist description of how she could decide on the life of a white person has captured their attention. Which then can deliver her final message...

The message is that even though the tables had turned that she could finally see that the powers that destroy peoples livelihoods and take possession of their income are colorblind.

Very badly packaged message indeed, and yes she shouldn't obviously be making these decisions.

If that is true, and I'm not arguing it is that would make it her problem not mine.
And if by saying such things willingly on videotape causes the suicide of her carreer, so be it.
Racism only affects the people with a small brain capacity.
Speaking of racism,
BAN NASCAR.

Yeah the MSM is pressing awful hard on the racist button.

This is my point right here. Its like prison rape. Sure it happens, but just because you go to prison doesn't mean you will end up with an ass that can whistle dixie. What is going on right is hyped racism. I don't care how you look at it, racism does exist in America but it is not tugging at the fabric of society, it is not destroying our freedoms or liberties. The people who fall for this crap are. The people who in turn get made and want to riot, whether the comments are from a black, white, or puerto rican mouth they don't speak for black people, white people, puerto ricans or the NAACP.

I live in the south, and I know plenty of white racists, I know plenty of black racists. And then theres always the guy who "you know I'm not a racist but....."

We aren't going backwards in this country, racism isn't taking over. The hype of racism is though.

How am I a parody of myself? Because I don't fall into this trap that the evil NAACP is going to exterminate white babies? Or because I see real racism everyday, and I know that for me, there are more pressing issues in America than racism.

But if you think that racism is the #1 thing we should be focused on and that it is destroying the freedom and dignity of our country, then pay no attention to the almost 5000 America troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, pay no attention to the millions of gallons of oil in the Gulf of Mexico, pay no attention to the crumbling of Americas job market, economy, and the unemployment rate. Pay no attention to the corporate takeover of America, pay no attention to politicians lining their pockets with money, while families line up in the street due to foreclosed homes, outsourced jobs, and a weak if not dead economy. Pay attention to racism, because just like it did in the 60's, it will destroy America.

Just what, a little over 40 years ago it was perfectly acceptable to hang black people from trees for eating "white pie". But thats not a big deal, not being able to call a black person colored is whats gonna destroy America, or some guy standing outside a polling place looking "nefarious", those will be the nails in our coffins.

Racism just might destroy the country I don't doubt that, but in a different way that you put forth.

No, because you attack people who dare care about civil rights as "faux news" drones, yet your talking points come straight from the left wing media. You're just repeating what Olbermann and Matthews have been saying to divert attention from this story.

What trap are you talking about? You seem to have a problem with reality. Did you not see the tapes? These guy do exists and are violating civil rights. The DOJ IS ignoring the case. The media IS ignoring the story, with the exception of attacking the messenger like you're doing.

Its fine that you don't care about civil rights, but keep it to yourself. If you want to keep your head in the sand, thats fine. Just click on a different thread.
