clip of a large *Shark swimming about next to a well head on the sea floor at 8.717 ft in the Gulf of Mexico. It's underneath the Deepwater Nautilus drilling platform. Film clip taken from Transocean site who verify it's authenticity.

Looks like a Whale Shark to me.

Which BTW is not actually a whale, it's just a huge shark. The word "whale" in this only denotes size, not it's biological order.

Also, I am a bit surprised to see it swimming around there as well.

But then again, consider the fact that we put oil based derivatives in ALL of our food products, pesticides, cloths, plastics, cleaning materials, toothpaste, etc. You name it, there is oil in it.

The oil has been chemically altered into other components though, and is in extremely low quantities almost always.

This is why we do not just get sick and die, because it is of such low concentration that we can filter it out of our body.

But if you get just straight crude oil on you, you are taking some huge risks because oil is highly carcinogenic and has been shown to be a very likely cause for many many different types of cancers.

I am just trying to find a middle ground here.

Obviously Oil isn't lava, it's not going to burn through you and melt you.

But it's also not exactly safe, because it's highly toxic and can promote cancer growth merely by exposing yourself to it.

I rate oil as a 5 on a scale from 1 to 10. 1 Being very safe, and 10 being very dangerous. I'd slap it in the middle. I am leaning towards a 6 though due to obvious concerns.

I'm no expert, but aren't all whales' tails oriented horizontally? This looks more like a shark to me, with a vertical tail orientation,

A shark of some species (vertical caudal fin). But just goes to show that nature always prevails.

Well, clearly Obama and his zionist banker BP satanist buddies made a computer generated shark whale image because we all know as FACT that this is the Extinction Level Event and that we are all already dEAD!

ZOMG!

Maybe this is why a shark is seen and not much else?

Research by Dr. Robert Langer of M.I.T. and other workers has revealed a promising anti-tumor agent obtainable in quantity from shark cartilage. Shark cartilage, it turns out, contains a compound antagonistic to the effects of angiogenin, called (cleverly enough) 'angiogenin inhibitor' - which does just what it sounds like: inhibits the formation of new blood vessels so that the proto-tumor starves or 'chokes' in its own waste products.

Don't let appearances fool. Death will not be immediate. I read an article yesterday that I will try to find about how the oil and Corexit takes a while to get into their system via their food and gills (I think it said gills). Will post later.

I think this was the article from Discovery News: Link.

I agree the sharks are highly protected against cancers and things like this. Good thinking nutter.

I wish there were some way for each person to flag the useless dribble and after 50 or so useless rants they get posting privileges taken (temp/perm) something this is just ruining this site. I guess ignore works just aswell.

gpena great find,
I wonder what attracted the shark there with all the corexit that is lurking around.
it is really heart braking to see the shark and all the other animals there.

Nah, posts like that actually lend us some credence on ATS. If that's our opposition, then I feel elevated somehow when I read that kind of drivel.

So maybe the shark caught a whiff of the methane and has mistaken it for fish farts?

Seriously though, why are people surprised they haven't seen animals, considering the movements in the area by the ROV's and the presumably loud sounds being made by the escaping oil?

I don't believe it to be a whale as a whale doesn't swim that deep as it has to come up frequently for air.. I am sure it is some kind of shark.

if anything could survive down there around that oil it would be a shark they are arguably the worlds best adapters and survivors....

This is a prime example of the levels to which one must stoop to in order to politicize and mitigate the largest ecological disaster in the history of modern man. Thanks for posting this justadood, it gives the rest of us some perspective on just how intent and childishly predisposed some people are when it comes to debunking things on ATS.
Maybe someday they will dump some mercury or depleted uranium on your lawn and we can post similar crap when you express your concerns about it.

Here we go again . This is the largest US ecological disaster. The biggest oil based disaster is in the Niger River Delta and has been ongoing since 1966.

Stop thinking that the "US" is all that matters and the rest of the world is insignificant.

There are many many more ecological disasters worst than the Gulf BUT they are not US based........

Interesting! Either that shark is crazy in the head from the chemicals (lol)!

Or he is just wandering around in the dark, whatever its doing i hope it was not harmed by the oil/dispersants
