2 Utah State Employees Allegedly Behind Immigrant List

connect2utah.com

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah officials said Friday they have identified at least two state workers who apparently accessed confidential documents to create a list of 1,300 purported illegal immigrants that was mailed to law enforcement officials and the news media.

"This tactic by these rogue employees to go out and to single out individuals and their families, in some case falsely accusing people of an illegal status, is in fact deplorable," Herbert said

Before some genius says that this is necessary or they're heroes or something, it's important to note that there were people on this list who weren't illegal who had their information sent to various people without their consent, which kind of defeats the purpose of the list. It means they weren't well researched enough and it's really just whatever hispanic name they could find.

I'm personally sickened by this. I thought we were "innocent until proven guilty"?

apparently, we're guilty until proven mexican.

I for one applaude their effort in exposing these people, sure, there may be people on that list who are not illegal, but the fact that the list is not perfect does not negate the fact that these two ore more people put their necks out and stood up for their country. I hope that others will soon follow them in what they have done.
those who shy away from this, are cowards.
those who support the illegals and the public servants who turn a blind eye to them are traitors.

so the rights of those people who are here legally mean nothing?

it doesn't matter if justice is served for those who are here illegally, the fact that American citizens had their information sent out and distributed without their knowledge is what's important. This could happen to you, to anyone!

by the way, wouldn't you say it's hypocritical that the only way they thought they could get rid of illegals is...illegal?

I want an immigration solution that the American people don't have to suffer for.

edit: to add because there were American Citizens on this list, this calls into question the legitimacy of it.

All for kicking illegals out of the country and toughening our border, but the fact legal residents were on this list is wrong. American lawabiding citizens on any list is bad news, no matter what it is.

If Utah, AZ, OK, whoever wants illegals deported fine, but make sure they are illegals, targeting legal American citizens is simply terrifying.

So what if some legal immigrants were on the list. All they would have to do is show their papers and it wouldnt be a problem. Do you think it really harmed them to pull out a little paperwork.

I think they should make us ALL show are legal right to be here when we do any sort of transaction in this country. That should weed out the problem and I do not mind showing mine if it gets the illegals on the train out of Dodge.

so I can take your information: your address, your children, when your wife is expecting her next baby, etc.

and send to whomever without your permission?

edit: it may seem just as easy as showing papers, but they should have done that in first place rather than sending out this list to law enforcement and media outlets.

Yeah when I illegally move to a country and take the legal citizens jobs, don't pay for my own healthcare, have an anchor baby, etc... you can take my information: my address, my children, when my wife is expecting her next baby, etc. and send to whomever without my permission.

I would have no argument against this if they had done their homework and researched each of these individuals. They only had all of their information

So what?
I will just sue you for passing out my information without permission. You will loose. Then you will owe me money for the rest of your life. I can sue you because I am legally here. If I were here illegally (and the feds actually enforced their own laws) then I would be on the run from the feds and wouldnt want the publicity suing you brings.

Your argument is ineffectual. these people are illegal. They are criminals, they are drug dealers, they are human trafficers. My name and the name of my family would not appear on a list such as this, and if i was placed on a list such as this, through investigation, it would be determined that I was not suppose to be on it. probably after a single conversation.
These people need to leave. They came here to my country and traveled to my state. Then they took jobs at a wage that you cant survive on alone, you can forget about supporting a family on minimum wage or less.
They live 18 to an apartment and have babys like mad. They spread crime everywhere they go, and leave the walls and the fences covered in spray paint.
the congregate in the parks and the beaches with their pitbulls and flash gang signs.
they find little girls and boys and hook them on drugs.
then when I get mad I am called a racest, but they are allowed to spout off about brown pride and about how evil I am?
They need to leave, if they wont go in peace, there will come a day when we make them leave.

suing someone doesn't give them back the privacy they once knew. It also doesn't protect them from extremists who possibly have their information.

not to mention legal fees and days/months/years in court.

you've never actually sued someone, have you? even if your case is clear cut, it's still not even close to an immediate process.

Go ahead and try to kick American citizens out of America. We took this country by force and we will keep it by force.

so my argument is invalid because what now? Because of people who made poor decisions?

if you sincerely think that all mexicans come here and do everything you describe, you are a racist. there's no way around it.

since I'm mexican, I guess I'm gonna go have a giant family spraypaint my pitbull, "steal" a job, and eat tacos and burritos ARRIBA ARRIBA EPA EPA

you're not evil, you're just ignorant.

The vast majority against illegal immigrants are not racist against Mexicans. This is just some BS liberal lie that is a strawman argument. I am all for any person of any race who is here LEGALLY. On the other hand I believe people of ANY RACE that is here illegally should be booted out of the country never to return.
