I will now say, after today, I am ebarrased to be an Iphone owner. This post is for all those who watched Steve Jobs, and his ridiculous speech today.

Insted of directly addresing the technical issues with the Iphone 4, and telling the public how they meant to deal with the issues, Steve Jobs attacked other phones, by other companies for having similar problems. Are you kidding me?

Let's say the CEO of Toyota had not come out to the general public and cried during his apology. Let's say instead that he had come out and said "yes there are issues that we are aware of, but Honda, Saturn, and GM have reported similar problems, and then the conference ends.

I think Steve Jobs has officially lost his mind. It was just a matter of time. Don't look forward to any "fixes" when they start pointing the finger at other companies. I was on the waiting list for an Iphone4, I have already taken my name off the list. I wonder if the flop speech by Jobs was part of the reason for the 200+ market dive today?

How does this work into ATS? We believe in the products we buy. Otherwise we wouldn't buy them. If the "king of the industry" is selling junk, and not willing to back it up. What does it say about the industry as a whole, or for that matter the economy as a whole?

I have an iPhone.. But I'd be more embarrassed at not being able to spell the word "embarrassed"

I get what you are saying... Apple have turned from innovative into overly sizable in the markets..

Anyway.. Hopefully it is the software problem that they suggested that can be patched as opposed to a hardware problem that will seriously damage their company and future breakthroughs..

I own an iPhone and feel that I was dazzled by the bright lights and razzmatazz around it all. There is nothing really wrong with the phone but as with items like this, we, the general public, are like moths to the flame with these products and in more often then not, we are being ripped off. The next phone I get will be 'back-to-basics and cheap.

Apple blows but that is my opinion.

A lot of ATS members use the term "sheeple" and I get it. When the v2.0 iPhone came out I took my daughter to the line at the store and told her never to be one of these people that sleep on the floor, for a phone when people actually live on the street without basic survival items.

Apple creates a false demand, uses borderline unethical marketing practices and almost everyone ignores the fact the FoxConn employees were killing themselves 6 months ago because they were forced to make enough of these damn things for the launch demand.

It is despicable at best.

Cheers

Trusted reviews I have seen say the reception is better than their 3G and I think apple have said the fault was with their signal strength algorithm.

That said the new os isn't as stable as the previous one. Oh and jobs' presentation was very poor as you said. What was he wearing?

Also it is poor for posting on ats as well.

I don't even care much about gadgets from a user point-of-view; they hardly interest me at all. They're far more interesting from the technical end and hacking them over being a passive consumer.

So, in other words, I'm not a iPhone owner and don't plan on becoming one unless I want to change it somehow, maybe to make it conspire to take over the world...or is it already doing that? Argh, need a better killer app, like making iPhones wake people up, but not just with an alarm clock.

It's not just some phone, it's a lifestyle choice.

Apple and i-Phone blows.

I went with the BB Storm 2.

I can't stand Steve Jobs and Apples copyright crap making it a pain for me to manage and load all my friends i-Phones with the music they need.

BTW It's very strange my Storm 2 has much better sound quality with music than i-Phones and i-Pods, these guys are suppose to be the music masters now.

We tested sound quality with 3 different car stereo systems and 3 different ear and headphones and we all agreed Storm 2 sound is much better.

We also tested a Sony Ericsson X10 and a Nokia N900 for sound vs the i-Phone 3GS and i-Pods and Apple still fails in last.

The only advantage that Apple has is the phone games.

edit: Forgot to ad I can Blue-tooth files and music to all any of my friends phones except those using the i-Phail

Not exactly. I had the previous version iPhone for two months until it got stolen.
The reason I bought an iPhone instead of the others is because you could make the text size actually see-able. I guess my eyes are starting to fail me but I just can't see other phones without putting my glasses on which is a pain. Anyway, once my phone got stolen I seriously started to consider if it was a good idea anyway that I have that much information about myself and my friends in one easily stolen little product.

I don't see it as him "attacking" other companies and phones, rather he was just saying that the perfect phone doesn't exist and that all phones have problems. People expect Apple products to be perfect but if the technology isn't there, well then it isn't there.

I'm embarrassed I don't own a phone and have no idea how to use one. Last time I tried to answer one I took a photo of the bread bin.

Apple = overpriced, overhyped rubbish. made using slave labor. Will never own or use an apple product. Especially an I(diot) phone.. Theres many phones that beat the I(diot) phone hands down on functions, features, style and price.

I have the original version of the iphone which I bought around the time it was first released, its been a few years since then and I have had no real problems with the phone, I will buy the new one eventually. People just like to whine because they feel like theyre stickin it to the man(or because they didnt buy the iphone and want to feel better about the phone they did buy by attacking all others), and it is damn annoying because I have apple stock, and I want to sell it, but this overblown issue is disproportionally hurting the stock.

IMO, Apple products may be expensive but your paying extra for the quality and user experience. I have found both of those aspects to be far superior to other brands. My Apple products always work and I can rely on them to always work. As far as the computers, the user experience is exceptional, especially when compared with machines designed for Windows. I don't think I have ever had a Mac crash on me, ever. I have never had to do anything other than press the power-button to have it up and running, just as good as when I bought the product. Sadly, I can't say the same thing for any other brand.

Of course, others don't have to agree with me, this has just been my exerience, as well as everyone else I know that uses Apple products. There is a trend that I have noticed, where people who don't use Apple products tend to bash the brand and I can only imagine it's because they don't want to feel left out for not owning one.

How tragic, this bump in the road towards all humans rushing to turn themselves into automatons.

Even nine or ten years ago, I doubt anyone would have believed that 98% of the population would be walking around online like zombies every minute of their lives. 'Humans' scare the hell out of me.

I'm not one of those apple worshippers, but I do have an iphone and have had ipods for a long time.

I would challenge you to name another phone (or even mobile OS) that has as many people developing software for it as the iPhone does. Particularly when you consider the jailbreak community along with those developing for the Apple store.

Any device is only as good as the software that exists for it. There are more people developing more different kinds of software (games included) for the iPhone than for any other mobile platform. This gives the iPhone superiority imo.

But they have really ballsed up with the iPhone 4. I mean, I'd never buy a first generation apple product anyway, they're always buggy, but the iPhone 4 has taken it to a new level.

I guess thats good too, but on my phone I can change the font sizes for everything.

If you had a BlackBerry and it got stolen, it would be useless to the thief.

Can't crack the password and everything on the phone is encrypted including the Media card files.
Even if they could crack the password, they can't use that phone for service, its a brick after that.

BBMs are encrypted too so no one can see your messages.

Next time you get a phone ask them for insurance.

My phone company gives me an insurance plan for $7 CDN a month that covers lost, stolen, damaged and water damaged phones.

Screw apple. I've had enough problems with my ipod touch. Tired of having to hack out of the close ended OS to get the features I want, and using 3rd party programs to sync mp3s I buy off of amazon because itunes won't.

I'll just get an android when my sh*ty razr dies.

Hurray for open linux based OS!

I won an Iphone, but as every other brand It died within a year.. Well that is the maximum expire date for me on phones..

So now I bopught a different one,A brand that for the third time seems to get 1 and a half year before death. Music is my main focus of the phone, next to some texting and full internet. So mine has got bang and olufsen technology to produce my music.. I am very happy with it.

Apple just seems to crash on me as much as any other brand with same qualities. Accept Graphic design on comp that doesn't need to be communicated with other companies

But in general I prefer Oranges over apples
