Well I've been both a smoker and non smoker at different periods of my life and I can honestly say that when I'm not smoking I get as sick as a dog
with every flu, cold and virus going around.
When I smoke I never have a sick day.
If certain genes are hyper expressed, then it's obviously ones that are protective to certain viruses.
I don't need a scientist to tell me this because I've seen it and experienced it. But I would like a scientist to explain why I'm protected from
certain ailments while I"m a smoker as to opposed to when I'm not.
