I made an alternate playlist of the Lateralus album that's over an hour and youtube won't let me upload them.

I'm pretty sure you guys know about the "Lateralus Prophecy" and "The Holy Gift".

If any of you want that playlist just U2U me.

Yes that's it. I made the whole album into one song as described there.

Schweet! When I first got a copy of Lateralus, I kicked back in a recliner with some nice headphones and closed my eyes. I remember thinking how cool it was to listen to a conceptual and connected album. They are so rare these days, but this one certainly was a ride

I'll have to check it out in altered order sometime too.

peace,

Yay TOOL!!! I've loved these guys since 1995 and I've seen em 5 times - each time absolute perfection. The first time I saw them was at a festival in Sydney called Alternative Nation (NIN and Primus headlined)...anyways, Tool were on early, and I kid not, as soon as they came on stage there was a crack of thunder, it started raining, and it was all so damn primal and bassy. Plus Maynard had a crazy mohican hairdo, which topped it off. I love how Adam gets that deep tone from his guitar, it was so sweet with the storm. I was instantly hooked..

I worship Danny Carey and his artful precision - he is an absolute athlete on those drums and the very definition of pushing the boundaries.

Favourite songs of all time

Third Eye
Jerk Off (used to be a bunch of assholes that lived in this part of the building here) haha!
Push-it (especially off Salival)
ENTIRE LATERALUS album...I use it instead of anti-depressants now, and it works everytime.

I can relate very strongly to all of your words. The band T00L has always intrigued me, I have not come across any other band with such substance and reward for listening than T00L. As I am in a hard place with life right now Eon Blue / The Patient plays nonstop on my mind and calms my nerves better than any chronic strain of sativa. Likewise though A Perfect Circle will always remain in my ultimate favorite band category due in part through Maynard's dynamic Vocals and the musicianship of the band they are severely underrated and in the shadows of T00L.

Hey there melsbells, glad to meet another fan! Sounds like that show was quite the spectacle, both for the eyes/ears and soul! Anti-depressant? I believe it, but with better side effects! Yes Carey is da man for sure!!!!

Hey guys just wanted to ask if any of you have heard the acoustic version of 3 libras maynard does with his kid on the cello? its hands down one of the best vocal performances I've heard him do - along with the live extended version of pu# from the salival album.

this also happens to be my favourite MJK song..

and here's the best live recording I've heard..

Peace & Good Tings,

Sickness! You just blew my mind with that 3 Libra acoustic version! It almost has an India-ish vibe to it, like climbing sonic snakes.
Dig the other vid too, I had heard the song but not seen the vid.
Thank you for chiming in B

Hey Spec!

Yeah about Lateralus, I'm sure everyone will agree, but I find that during times of anxiety, irritation, or general negativity, one listen to that album from start to finish (in the order it was released in) really puts my thoughts into perspective and eventually into a clearer state of being. It's almost as if the album acts as a soundtrack to your brain working it's way out of the dark and into the light.

They really can be used as a "tool", do you agree? What's even crazier is how they pull off this "deep inside your brain" trick live! Screw Copperfield, these lads are the ultimate Magic(k)ians!

Yes, I agree melsbells, Tool as a tool. Maybe their applications of sacred geometry have an affect too.
I don't know, but Lateralus is a masterpiece for sure man. Thanks for commenting

Hah, is that Maynard or someone imitating him? Either way, pretty cool. Guess when you are that talented, anything you can say sounds good and crafty.

No that is the real Maynard.

It's a hidden song in their first album Opiate. Also you can see a video of them performing it live at Jewtube.

I have see them 2 times in Arizona and both times were amazing and i was always on the floor about 20 feet away. Best band to see live! Especially when you throw a little fungus into the mix to spice things up a bit. haha

These guys can really playyy....

Such evocative music. I was lucky enough to be introduced to them in 2001 on a trip to the states.

I listen to them all the time even now.
