Why are our Congressman spending their 4th of July weekend in the Artic at the Doomsday Vault?

Why are our congressman spending their fourth of July weekends in the frozen arctic tundra putting seeds in a Doomsday Vault? Does this further the assumption of a new world order/global conspiracy? This vault rarely gets any attention by the mainstream media, but the leaders of many countries seem to frequent the location. Why has the doomsday vault been such a top priority recently? Huge waste of taxpayer money. If there ever was a major disaster that would require the use of this, how would a regular group of people looking to start over, access it?

Why go on the 4th of July of all days? That's bizarre, july 4th is SUPPOSED to be a family holiday, isn't it?
There has to be a huge DUMB next to Svalbaard since what good are seeds if nobody is around to plant them.
This is a seriously costly project. Amazing how we can spend money to store seeds underground but we can't buy a veteran a new pair of eyeglasses.
Thanks for posting this, I'm going to keep my eyes on these Congressmen. Seems to me you'd have to be somewhat of a bigwig to get an invite to that place.

This one thing, is my biggest argument for the possibility that the elite know and are planning for a doomsday scenario. The underground tunnels and/or DUMBS are important, but not proveable like this is.

What is that theory, Occam's Razor is it? The simplest answer is usually the correct one?

I heard they were delivering chilli seeds this time. Gotta have those chillis after the apocalypse, that's rule number 1!

I have my own vault developing, not got any chilli seeds though.

Yes, they put it in the open for all to see. They even nicknamed it the Doomsday vault!! Crazy! I believe there are underground bases in Norway to shelter around 2 million people. I wonder how the hell you get on that list.

I personally thought the video of the vault was abit of a let down, just a big miserable dreary looking room. For some reason I expected it to look and be more modern and hitech, with lots of different rooms and labs.

I went to Aderholt's website to hopefully send an inquiry, however, he is not my District Representative. But in the News section, it did say he was in Norway on July 9th to accept some award.

My first thought is this is just a feel good program, and their visits are done so they can write off the cost of travel (July 4th vacation paid for by U.S. Citizens!)

They are probably only showing the storage warehouse and the vault before it was furnished. I've seen more pictures recently of the high tech facilities inside of it. Also has a new light system as well.

My opinion on the "Doomsday vault" is that it is more of a "If Monsanto's genetically modified seeds ruin everything vault".

Maybe one day, the powers that be plan to stop poisoning the population with food that has been genetically spliced with pesticides and who knows what else, as well as genetically modified not to naturally reproduce annually.
