Mistakes are mistakes, and it's not like I said "Hi, I too am in the field of pathology - you are incorrect." I just bunged off a winger without checking my facts first.

Name one person on these forums that hasn't made a similar mistake at least once

Anywaaaaaaays. Now that we have a date of death, its either going to be on 7/11 or 7/10. I encourage anyone to call the OMI in NM and ask if there was an Dr. Edgar Mitchell that passed on either of those dates.

Why don't you do it and mask your voice? Or just use your regular and give a fake name if asked? Or ask your wife/significant other/friend to do it with you in the room?

The hell we do! When you die you come in "as is".

Let me ask you this Fry. When you are found dead in the alley with an axe in your head, do you think that they would take your clothes off in the street, then bag you? No. They leave all your clothes on and leave the axe in your head then bag you. In a homocide case, clothes could be an important part of the investigation. We would have to photograph and collect trace evidence which could be left on your clothes.

And in natural deaths we would remove the clothes and put them in a bag, then give them to the next of kin.

If this was your true profession you would have written up hundreds or more likely thousands of reports including the word homicide. After spelling this word frequently in professional reports for so long how did you manage to miss-spell it here?

Not defending the guy, but take a look at how close the 'i' and 'o' are on the keyboard. Put a gun to my head and I'm going to say it's a typo.

In my profession, i never once wrote a report. Im not a pathologist. But I did roughly 1500 autopsies. And hey, in real life, i cuss like a sailor, and speak a little ghetto at times.

And as far as a hoax goes, a 3 year long hoax is a bit far fetched. I have given all of you as much info i can remember, name, another member helped me out by finding my original post, so now you have a date of death. I also gave out the name and phone number to my former employee, so anyone can call and varify for themselves.


This is an event that happened in my life that has always bugged me. This and a few other cases haunt me.

would it cost much for someone to ring the phone number from the UK? Im happy to ring it but i dont want a huge bill, the misses will kill me!!!

There was an Edgar D. Mitchell who died November 6, 2007, with a last residence in Taos, NM according to ancestry.com His date of birth was in 1926, not 1930 as the astronaut's is. This thread belongs in the hoax forum imo.

I just had some questions. I didnt try to fool anyone here. I asked for some help.

Well this must be the same guy. Now thats one case i dont have to worry about anymore. The only thing that bothers me is the date of birth. I coulda swore it was the same.

But i tell you, the guy looked just like him.
