Hey ATS, just so none of you miss out on this remarkable event, I managed (i.e. Googled) a quick link for a live stream of the eclipse - come watch!

www.eclipse.astromatica.es...

S+F's unneeded, just wanted to share this with the rest of you.

Thank you for posting this. I had posted earlier this morning if anyone knew of a live feed. I bet it feels pretty magical to be there right now on easter island. I wonder if a big ufo will show up for this like the one over china with that last eclipse.

I've always found them fascinating.

I've only witnessed two in my life time and never pass the opportunity to watch one when/if a stream is available now that they are so readily available.

My apologies, I didn't see your thread - if a thread isn't on the main page long enough for my attention span to register it, it'll fly by without my knowledge of it.

With time I'll learn how to keep up with the main thread -and- explore the other forums at the same time, just so much information to digest

Thanks for posting this.

I've always wanted to see one in real life but I suppose this is the next best thing.

No problemo, sorry that the cloud coverage is bunking it so far.

I read a few news reports that said weather may ruin the view from the Easter Islands, so...it figures.

lol No Problem, I get lost too and I posted it in the wee hours anyway. To bad there is so much cloud cover. Did you see that creepy face in the clouds? I wish I could translate what it is written on the screen but Im guessing it was saying at first it was in total darkness and then total cloud cover. Pictures do tell a thousand words eh?!

Hrm. Looks like the feed is down at the moment - fail stream.

I'll try to find more streams for those of you who missed this one, and I'll just edit and add to the first post.

*edit - and it figures, the stream comes back online and the eclipse is over.

I'm sure they will be all over YouTube once the kids get on their parents' Mac, fire up iMovie, and dig out their copy of "Independence Day". Then we'll start getting the "OMG!!!!! WTF!!!!! LUK @ THIS!!!!!" posts that'll get massive amounts of stars and flags before someone points out the source of the cutout UFO idling beside the sun. Oh, the joy!

It's ok, I'm not complaining or anything.

In fact I’m really glad you made this thread still because if you never then I would have completely forgot about this entire solar eclipse that’s happening which would have been annoying to say the least so thanks!

I'm going to look for other live feeds for this eclipse for now and for later on as well that'll hopefully enable us to see it since the one you provide was as you say covered by clouds.

ETA: Wow, the links working fine now and I have to say that's quite a cool sight.

2010eclipse.blogspot.com...

This website has a nice graphic with the details of the locations/times in UT.

To convert to PST, just subtract 8 hours from the UT time listed and there you go.

It looks fantastic. Definitely need to see this for real eventually. I also want to see a hurricane and several other things. So, I've got a lot of money to save up.

Nice.

I keep trying to hit the NASA website for more information, and every link I go to just sticks and loads forever...must be getting hit hard today.

Not having any luck finding more sources for live streams so far...sorry gang.
