Storyboard: Climb Inside the World’s Coolest Cockpits

Society requires credentials to operate most vehicles. Passing a simple test allows you to drive a car, a motorcycle or a speedboat. But what about legendary beasts like the supersonic SR-71 fighter jet? Strolling onto the tarmac at an Air Force base and flashing your recreational aviator’s license won’t get you anywhere except jail.

What does this button do?

From Spy Plane to Monster Truck — a Photo Gallery of Awesome Cockpits

That is just amazing, and even more amazing is how one could manage to know what each and every one of those gauges, buttons, triggers, and whatever else is there are for.

What a big difference to the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the link with the gallery.

Enjoy ATS.

Mig 21's have a mean old school cockpit too

www.airforce-technology.com...

Coolest one I've been into recently is the 777, they have $60k USD leather seats, fully adjustable and strong as a house O_o

Great photo's, it really makes me want to pilot most of them.

If I where given the chance to pilot any of those I would have to choose the SR71. With Grave Digger a close second.

Yeah. I love the look of it. Just to even sit in it would make me feel like in control of more than just an airliner.

$60k for a seat, talk about sitting in a throne. I'd be happy with a lazy boy recliner.
