That logic, sorry the Kernel can't call it that, that reasoning defies logic. The cop was a major part of the story. What he did was intrinsic to the story but the Kernel is glad that we got down to where the gator #s. You have a problem with any cop that's seen in a better than Satanic light. Thanks. Your contribution can be ignored now. The Kernel has better thjings to do than listen to a whiner.

Did the KFC colonel just insult me using Yoda speak? I'm so lost.

EDIT: To that, I dislike the word cop period. The proper title is Police officer. Secondly I dislike police officers period. But I

boys will be boys, and everyone even an officer of the law was a kid once doing stupid # like most kids.

He did a good job, if i was that kid i would have been so scared seeing the cop car drive up i would be thinking "i'm so going to jail" probally why the kid was crying.

Oh well # happens, a field is a field

I love it. This story puts forth what nearly every story on ATS lacks...humanity.

Too often we look at police officers as faceless villains backing down our protests with riot gear and clubs. Or we see politicians and economic leaders as these hollow, evil beings that put us down simply to do it. On this site we are bombarded with the idea that people in power want to hurt us for no reason other than to hurt us.

All your enemies have families. They have cares and desires and hearts. Stories like these remind us that the people we're fighting against want the same things we want: security, peace and a happy, just humanity.

The trouble is most of the people in power go about it in the wrong ways: using power and money as leverage against the weaker people. Many worry more about their own happiness than the world's happiness. For that they are guilty.

But they are still human beings who love, create, share and laugh. We're all guilty of hurting each other and acting selfishly. Remember that our leader's sins take place in the spotlight of a media that perpetuates drama where there is none.

Remember stories like this the next time you flame up on someone's post or consider the implications of a leader's decision. Being the leader of the world, whether a police officer, politician or businessman, is not as easy as ATSers think.

My kind of person,

Not to mention the kid in the story maybe he can pass it forward for the next generations

Well retold, give your friend a hug from me ok?

And I am proud of the young man for taking responsibility for his actions.

An all around feel good story.

Really? Your statement is a prime example of why our world is in the state that it is. No one gives a flying crap about anything other than themselves.

my problem is with this officer getting a hard on over this and telling everyone about it.

It bothers you because? Oh, I get it, it bothered you because, it was a story about an act of kindness, and wasn`t about the cop who felt threatened by a 13 year old boy with fireworks, and ended up shooting the boy. I see, yea, that would be a much better story for the world to think about, isn`t it?

its so sappy.

Yea, those stupid feel good stories, why would anyone want to read about those, when we have so many death, destruction and public shafting stories that we could be reading about. Damned do gooders anyway.

if you did a good deed, great. you dont have to advertise it

Wouldn`t life be more of a bed of roses, if there wasn`t any good in this world? Such a heart warming thought, isn`t it?

like some needy, wanting, moron.

So goes, the story of your life. A true to life story at that.( This has been brought to you by, your friendly members of A.T.S., thank you.)

*sarc off*

Back on topic now.

Thanks for this story elevatedone. It`s nice to know that there is some caring left in this world. Makes you wonder how many stories like this, are sent to the MSM, and are turned down, because they don`t ooze hate, fear, death and destruction?

UUHHHMMM, whatever!! its rly nice you wanna spread peace&all, but let it be resourceful. No proof & just HEARSAY....no believeA ;-) i signed on to this site 2read INFO, not STORIES that cannot be backed...i've yet to see a town, state, props to tha COPS name [if such a deed was done, there NEEDS 2b credit where credit is due] .....maybe a report of the fire?? that would @least make it seemingly more true, but YET YOU PROVIDE NOTHING...... IF it did happen, YOU SHOULD provide proof. IF you wanted REAL ppl to believe you, you would provide something. WHO BELIEVES HEARSAY NOWADAYS??? OMG!! LOL but yeah, UUHMM nice.....STORY! false hope is all it is!! next time TRY to provide believeable proof, PLS! FOR THE SAKE OF TIME OF YOUR READERS ;-)

Do you always have these fits of rage when you read a story about a good deed? Just wondering, but, could the info you were looking for, be info on how to not wite a sentence like you did above? If so, you need to search the internet further, this is the wrong site.

nice callin out job romanmel !!!

Yeaaaaa. *pulls him close and gives him a dutch rub*

yeah, i see that you do have reason to post such a STORY......PROVIDING FALSE POSITIVE VIBES TO FEEBLE MINDED WANNAbELIEVERS....

The only feeble mindedness I see, is in your thinking. Funny, and I didn`t have to use capital letters to make a point, wow.

its just as harsh as negative vibes. THE TRUTH SHALL SET you..you dear, FREE...

And it`s statements such as yours that will set him free? And "you dear", are the south bound end of a north bound mule.

OT:

Just a few questions. Do you see a lie in everything in this world? If a friend of your sends you an e-mail telling you of something that he did, do you, 1. Question that this may not be your friend that sent you this e-mail? 2. Ask him for proof that he really did do this thing? 3. Do you harp at him till you get what you want?

I really wonder about people like you.

That is really good to know.
Since you are corroborating the OP's story, would you care to provide just a teeny bit of proof to prevent this thread turning sour?

Regards

OT:

It won`t turn sour. Unless your the one who will make it that way.

Do you treat your friends this way when they tell you a story? Do you tell them, proof please, or it`s a lie? If you do, I feel sorry for them.

If a friend relates a story, and it smacks of BS, I would call him/her on it.
It was not my intention to sour this thread. I think I asked reasonable questions, and stated why the story doesn't quite ring true for me.
Just questioning, is all...
Besides, I already apologised if I unintentionally hurt anyones feelings, and said I would back off from this thread.

Regards

See, thats just it. You have to know who your friends are.

My friend, wouldn't make something like this up. He has no reason to and just wouldn't do it.

I can answer your question, thus...

Yes, you should ask for proof IF:

You intend to start a thread on a public forum under "Current Events", as if it were a legit verifiable news story. This questioning of validity could have been avoided if the OP would have posted the thread under "Gray Area" in the first place. I personally advised the OP I trusted he was truthful as stated, and still feel that way.

What race was the officer? Mother? Child? Curious because I flatly can't imagine this scenario based on my own experience.
