Hello fellow ATS'ers I don't post much threads (if any at all) but i just wanted to get some input from you guys instead of looking for similar topics. I live in Toronto, Canada and i've recently vacationed in Kuwait to spend time with my dad who works there and my sleeping patterns have completely hit a nose dive. And you might say its because of the time zone difference but its been almost 3 weeks and everyday its the same results regardless. I've even tried to stay awake a whole day prior just so i'd be too tired to wake up around 3:30 the following night but it keeps happening! and the funny thing is that no matter how tired my body is or how much it stings to blink my tired red eyes, my mind is fresh as a pickle. Back in CA i'd be sleeping like a baby and wake up after 12 hours if i had the chance to sleep in but over here its waking up at this time no matter how early or late i sleep and here i am right now posting at 5:35 kuwait time after waking up at 3:30....i'd love to hear any thoughts from you guys and gals and would like to now what the heck is going on if any of you have experienced this

Yep, me to.

It started about three weeks ago and I dont know why.

I have a digital clock next to my bed, it's one with the EXTRA LARGE read- out, so you just can't mistake the time.

Wish I knew what it was all about.

It may have something to do with the fact that in an Islamic country such as Kuwait, most people rise very early for their obligatory prayers. This mass communication with the intelligent field that permeates all of creation has an instantaneous effect on the quantum level with a corresponding effect on our DNA. Once you go back to CA, you'll sleep OK again:-)

Strange that you should mention this.....

Since about mid-May I have been experiencing the same thing here in New Mexico. I have always been one who could sleep through anything and usually for about 10 hours if undisturbed. However now I am waking up between 3:30 and 4:15 every AM.

I had pretty much written it off as one of the effects of aging, but now I'm wondering just what is up.

Thanks for the thread. Maybe we'll get some meaningful input.

I hope you've checked all the mundane possibilities first.

A few months ago I was being awakened at ten to three every morning. In March it mysteriously changed to ten to four. (clocks move forward 1 hour every last weekend in March.) We had a long cold spring here in the UK but the last few weeks I've been awakened at five minutes to five. Explanation - my next door neighbours water heating clicking on. I don't ever hear it but the click from through the wall behind my bed is what's nudging me out of sleep.

Heating clocks aren't accurate to the exact minute so I'm assuming she wanted heating or water on at 3 am, changed to 4 when clocks changed. Now it's warmer weather she doesn't need it on so long so she's changed her clock to 5.

It could be anything waking you up. Even a shop shutter rolling up a mile away can wake you. You've passed deep sleep by that time so you're easily wakened.

I understand that large parts of New Mexico have remained relatively undisturbed by humans even to this day. The effect of the present planetary shifts are likely to be perceived by humans in such regions in these subtle ways before those in densely populated areas such as New York. The good news is that the energy field that holds in place outdated belief systems in your region is less dense, allowing for an easier transition to a more open and workable system for the planet. Furthermore, there are relatively large numbers of people in New Mexico presently engaged in heart-based healing initiatives for humanity and the planet. If this is an area of interest for you, I can put you in touch with them:-)

I used to get this ALL THE TIME, but at 4:30am instead of 3:30am.

After I while, despite my bodies protests, i started getting up and going out the balcony to stare at the sky.

My gut was saying that maybe there is a reason and to go outside. I never did see anything and eventually it just stopped.

It was, like many others in this thread, VERY out of character - i NEVER wake up during the night. (Though the FIFA World Cup changes that hahah)

Anyway, never knew what it was, but Wigit's suggestions are great. I live in an apartment complex so often wondered if it was someone's alarm clock waking me up. A mudane explanantion can always be the reason i suppose

Sounds like you circadian rhythm is out of whack.

Your circadian rhythm type : Questionnaire

What time do you go to bed ?

Is the room you sleep in , in complete darkness when you sleep ?

How much noise is there while you attempt to sleep ?

I'm an absolutely useless sleeper, and I go through phases where I wake up at the same time every night, recently it's been 3:18, and after that waking up every hour or so until I actually get up. Last night I woke up at half 2 or something and didn't get back to sleep til 5. It drives me mad, but I don't think it's anything serious, just insomnia. My dad's always been a terrible sleeper, as has my gran, so I dunno if that has something to do with it.

They usually last a few weeks with me, then I get a couple of nights alright, and then go back to waking up at random times again. I think my body just somehow gets into a rhythm and pattern, and doesn't like breaking out of it - as annoying as it is!

I don't really have any advice, I just go with it, I have other problems which mean I don't want to resort to any sleeping aid so I just have my iPod or a book nearby and just do that until I get back to sleep.

It wears you out, but hopefully it'll pass. Have you been under any stress or anything recently? There might be a reason for it...

Good luck anyway!

Ay x

I couldn't have a clue as to what's causing it, but maybe if you want it to stop try taking .5 mg of melatonin 4 hours before you go to sleep, by the time you wanna go to sleep you'll be out like a light, and will sleep through the whole night hopefully.

I havent had a proper nights sleep for as long as I can remember, going back to childhood. I wake up 3-4 times every night, roughly about the same time. I dont know the exact time as I dont have a visible clock near me.

I was waking up at exactly 3:30 every night for about a week straight last month. I couldn't figure out why as I am usually a very heavy sleeper. I sleep through thunder storms and my gf watching tv no problem, so I find it hard to believe that any automated noise at this time is waking me up. I have never done this before in my life so it was freaking me out. Especially since it was the same exact time every night. I then found it hard to go back to sleep once awake. I would just lay there but it would seem like a large amount of time would go by though because I would look at the clock again after seemingly just laying there for a few minutes and it would be sometimes an hour or so later than the last time I looked at the clock upon waking up. Very strange! I found it weird that others wake up at that exact time so I wonder what the connection is??

I too have this problem and I agree that there must be a connection somehow. It isn't every night but most nights (mornings), that I wake between 3:00 and 4:00, wide awake and unable to get back to sleep for at least another two hours.

No, it wasn't based on a true story.
The only thing true was that there were several dissapearances, which could be attributed to anything from wild animals to serial killers.
The rest of the movie was scripted and the town actually sued over it.

i have been experiencing something similiar, usually seeing the clock say 3:20 and or 4:20, i see the time change and notice what time it is when i wake in the middle of the night,

one thing i'd like to add is since march or april my dreams have been very strange, and very frequent, some dreams even prophetic in nature

i'd like to know what are your emotions when you wake at those times, like are you scared? like you just had a bad dream and your heart is racing and thoughts racing? or are you very calm and peaceful and not fearful?

when i have my recent 'prophetic' dreams, you could call them, i wake up feeling significance and feel calm and collected, and very peacefully thoughtful, trying to decifer and remember everything i just experienced, it's a good feeling

In Oriental Meidical Diagnosis certain times of day correspond to different organ systems. Often taimes people in America wake up between 1am and 3am this is a portion of the wood element, representing liver. Excessive drinking, drugging (including [pharmas) can illicit in imbalance in the meridians qi causing interuption of sleep.

The time of morning you are waking up with is 3am-5am that is the metal element associating with lungs and large intestine.."our connection with society at large, sadness and grief and letting go of what we dont need.

Worth meitating on

I've had the same problem for the past couple of months. One day I got so fed up with it I decided to set my alarm a little before when I was being woken up.

Turns out it was the paper guy coming by at 3:30 in the AM with an old beater car that clanks and needs a new muffler.

I've just gotten used to it by now. End up turning over and falling back asleep.

After watching the original "Amittyville Horror" I had a fear of waking up and seeing the clock read 3:15 am. In fact to this day I get a little freaked out if I see this time on a clock.

It's amazing how little things can effect us. The more you think about it, I guess the more it will happen?

Don't go to bed until three am and you wont have that problem.

But yes, years ago when my panic attacks were really severe, 3 o'clock seemed to be the time I would wake up with them,
