Dumbing Down and Destruction Of USA

I have no words for this, this type of dumbing down of young generation on tax payers money. This is a public school how can the education be so crappy. Is this the future USA has? This is destruction of America from within!!! The re-direction and dumbing down young generations!!!

Also, this gem of a quote "How can a African American evolve from white person...We're different skin!"" Goddamn!! That last quote at the very end is mind-bogglingly stupid. How will students like this understand biology, chemistry if they believe magic and super natural stuff?

Can you imagine the laughing stock USA will become if youngsters like this ever reach a international stage.


Religion should be kept away from Education. How different is this school from a Madrassa in Pakistan (where Muslim kid's go in rural areas and are taught religion), none!

That teacher is one ignorant guy with a fancy rank of Science teacher and black spot on the name of science.

It makes me sad that people that stupid are allowed to graduate from high school continuing to believe in fairy tales in place of evidence and truth.

If kids are going to be taught creationism alongside evolution, then why not teach astrology alongside astronomy, numerology alongside mathematics, and witchcraft and sorcery alongside chemistry? Why don't these 'alternative' viewpoints also get equal classroom time?

How on Earth can this person teach? Dont you need 5 years of college, rigorous psychological, specialistic tests and sticking to the curriculum like your bible to do such a responsible job?

I donno what the procedure of recruiting teachers is but dumbos like that teacher should be fired for reason no other than stupidity. This is one of the reasons why USA is falling behind every other country in almost every fields. You cannot deny the situation in the video is a tragedy.

Tears are rolling down my face. Its a combination of laughter and disbeleif. Its true they haven't evolved from anything. Their brains are a single cell organism.

Yes you need so much time invested in college and so many different classes to become a teacher. A lot of people especially here on ATS say that you go to school and get brainwashed into the institutions beliefs, well apparently this teacher was able to resist his institutions beliefs.
Only problem is I guess this time the college was right, and now we got a teacher teaching creationism.
Thanks to the OP for sharing that video of just one of our schools, it was insightful, and now I have less confidence in our future generation.

With the standard of education like this they might as well start giving Creationist Science Award.

Not all schools have the same qualification guidelines, particularly public vx. private schools. I guess the must vary from state to state. Edit to add, this was at a public school? Yikes. I missed that.

This happened on a much lesser scale at a public elementary my son attended here in GA. I was in there like a shot and was then even more stunned to find how many parents not only supported public school teachers teaching creationism their way but encouraged it. Secular schools are for everyone, and cover as a base curriculum what we all have in common, what effects us all, in a way.

Teach it all, re: religion, or teach nothing. I think that's fair.

I call it "The moronification of the nation" and it has almost nothing to do with this video. A perfect example can be found in some of the responses in this thread. Mankind is doomed!

Its pretty obvious that they just live in an overly religious area.. everywhere has them though. 99.9% of them in Europe don't believe in creationism though.

It seems like we need the schools to be dumbed down and no child left behind to remain in effect in order for the US to be successful on the path that they've chosen.

In the past, the schools pushed kids to be great by challenging them. The kids that succeeded moved on to be management or professionals. The kids that failed could still make a living working in factories or similar jobs. In order to improve profits over all, the cheap unskilled jobs were moved to countries where the cost of living was low and companies could get away with paying very little money to their workers. In order to avoid huge numbers of unemployed Americans, they had to cater to the lowest common denominator so that all Americans qualified to hold jobs that required a high school diploma. Unfortunately, as a result, our kids are dumber because we accept much less from them.

That's sort of the way I see things. I see some problems with my hypothesis, but I haven't put too much thought into it. It's just my "gut" reaction.

Just pushing this thread a bit up, because I think these are the themes we should discuss, and not the new Wonderbra of Supergirl.

Why do you ATS'ers let such threads die within ours? Is it just to painful to write and read about the truth?
