I was browsing the web this week and i noticed a website on blogspot Here

i had noticed that they were discussing harry potter and if it has occult meaning in it, and i noticed that everyone was in agreement with the article, I decided to make a post and 2 days latter i checked to find it was not up so i made another and another and after 35 posts i find they will not accept my opinion, i have a suspicion its because i am against the idea, mainly because they relate occult to satanism and baby killing which i know is hogwash. Occultists do not commit murder for their craft, at least not in general and not more often then other people. Second they are rarely satanists, yes most occultists do use the key of solomon or another demon summoning book to gain worldly possessions but that is not the main use of the occult, but yet this site is lying to everyone, they even have parents convinced that bakugan has demonic symbols on the toys, Ha Ha Ohh and according to them they believe that snow white and fairy tales are the tales told by the devil, HA HA HA HA

Anyone else think this is ridiculous.

I believe this is a conspiracy of spiritual ignorance(Edit)

Not only is it ridiculous - it is not Christian, whatever it calls itself.

A load of bollocks.

I'm not going to comment on the actual opinions they're expressing-
But if the blogsite was set up to promote a particular purpose, it's both sensible and reasonable for them to exclude material conflicting with it.
Similarly if the purpose of the blog was to get people to prepare for climate change, they would not accept material that was denying climate change.
If they're not claiming to offer open debate, they're not obliged to allow it.

Even we have the old ignore button. That doesn't make their closed-mindedness right though.

Personally I believe that most religious sites have had so many people that have either debunked, fought, argued, or challenged them, that they have no other outlet but to communicate with other, that only have the same opinion. To go to a christian site and offer any type of opinion, is blasphemous to them, and since they usually don't bash or correct each other, its kind of the same way, when someone makes a post on ATS, never thinking their not going to get flamed for their opinion, but it happens more than not.

Peace to you...

edited for spelling.

Well, it is their site, and the moderators there can play any tune they feel like playing.

The internet is a vast place, and there are plenty of broader minded alternatives.

Rather like joining a camping forum and saying you believe living out doors is stupid. You will probably get cut off at the knees fairly rapidly.

You can believe Jesus and still get kicked off those sites...

I have to agree with some of the other posters, while i dont agree with the website removing posts, it is their site and they can do what they want.
I imagine that they often get get people finding the website, posting and challenging them, i cant count how many threads ive seen on forums where they have dicovered some christian website and are bombarding it with negative posts. I must admit to finding it funny but it must be a pain if you just want to disscuss things with your blindfold on...
Ats is no different, bad language is not allowed, off topic posts etc.
Its all in the terms and conditions of each forum. its a shame that it often decends into name calling because religious debate can be interesting untill it gets personal.
I think if you are not being rude or offensive, they should not remove your comments, perhaps you should email an admin at the site and explain your sadness at being censored (though i fear it wont do much good in this case)

I think it is ridiculous.

We have the same thing happening in my country. If they let you post another opinion and then delete that is their call, but they are also keeping their readers in the dark.

To me this is the same as lying and indoctrination. Both are IMO unwanted behavior.

my opinion is that if they are so sure that their outlook is THE only correct perspective, in the eyes of GOD, and they are as well-informed as they present themselves as being, on all offenses and defenses related to their religion, then they should WELCOME differing opinions and viewpoints.

the reason being, they would only substantiate their own point of view as being the *truth* each time they solidly put down any objections to their authorized doctrine!

if they are all that sure, what are they afraid of? what's wrong with a little opposition to show your own side's strengths and virtues?

2 Corinthians 13:8
For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

if they had all the answers they wouldn't be afraid of the questions.

just my opinion, mind you.

I had a quick look at this site and quickly realized that it was not really for me ..!
However I do think that it is interesting that we in the Western world fear religions AKA Islamic faith and more importantly fanatical fundamentalists and yet in the USA we 'accommodate' so many Fanatical religious groups and types that it appears to me to be a little 'DOUBLE STANDARDS'.

I personally do not believe in any superior being, I do however believe that there is a right and wrong choice that we all have responsibility in making, however small a decision might be.
It is that word 'Responsibility' which, to me most people Conveniently forget about and then look to religious justifications to support their views and thoughts (good / bad or whatever).....

If a website FAILS to put across both perspectives then it , in my opinion is more PROPAGANDA and brain washing than being of any potential benefit...... It has Failed in it's RESPONSIBILITY to those who read it !!!!

If they maintain/pay for/own the servers their content is on they can do whatever they want. That is their right. It is obvious they only want to hear from people with similiar opinions. It is not our place to force them to hear different opinions if they do not want that. Live and let live.

It's not the first time somebody has set up a blog to avoid ridicule and questioning. It all makes sense really to control what can and can't be said as to pass it off as fact. Nothing wrong with it but it's not encouraging a healthy debate, or any for that matter.

It is a blog, not a forum. The whole purpose of the blog is really one sided. It is also a free site where you are free to set up any blog you like and deny comments to anyone you like. It seems as if you are advocating that one group not be allowed to just say what they want. You are not paying for it. You do not have to go there. You are free to set up your own in opposition and deny them entry. It is a wonderful what freedom can do.

We should all join that site, .... and spice things up by accusing everyone else that their not christian enough.

As strict as their religion allows it could always be stricter, let's call them out on it.

Making comments like " no self respecting christian would own a television or even watch these movies, may the fire's of hell be easy on your soul"

another and another and after 35 posts i find they will not accept my opinion,

Can you give us just a little more information?

Like, did your post contain profanity? Did your post bash Christians? Or, was your post respectful and insightful?

Maybe you will cut/paste your original post on that site here?

Now, as for 'them' 'not allowing' you to post, that's a bit misleading.

Did you have to agree in the terms of use in that forum you are a Christian? Did you have to agree to become if you used their site?

No? Then that means you're allowed to post, but, they didn't like what you had to say and the title to this thread is misleading.

Sorry, but, it sounds to me like you joined just to bash their opinion of Harry Potter. Just sayin...

peace

EDIT: html - And to say: Your title should reflect the site in question is a Christian BLOG! That makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE...

It's ridiculous. But it's their private little neighborhood, too. If they want a brainless echo chamber... well, more power to 'em.

I find it stupid that adults would have conversations like that. But as far as moderating their site... So what? It is fair that people who commiserate what to do so free some interjections in a similar way that you would not just start arguing with someone at the next dinner table over (I presume).

Not every site is for debate or cross discussion nor should it be, no matter how one might disdain the topics.

Let the "Brainwashed" talk to other "Brainwashed" people.. they only keep each other on the same level, never leveling in any greater good.. cause you know.. the bible has all the answers.

And if they delete your posts.. its probably cause their "Bubble" is bursting, and their brains cant comply, cause they never used it for any good.
