Well put. Yes, tantamount to, as far as working conditions. However, I must say that an African slave came unwillingly, as I don't recall reading of
how an African slave even so much as paid someone to bring him or his family here. The African slave was captured and forced to come here and forced
to work and could not say, "Enough of this s###, I'm going to return home!" and do so.
Also, the Southern economy was dependent upon slavery to the extent that when it was broken the economy broke, too. Has the American economy today
become so dependent on insourcing illegal labor, that it, too, would break?
What GB does, however, is use "slavery" rhetorically to advance his opinions. Given the chance to stop illegal hiring by business, which really is
why there are so many illegals WORKING here, GB would be on the side of business, his rhetorical free market.
