Tropical storm Alex to become hurricane today.

I hope this isn't old news by now and thought it was interesting when I saw it. I hope this is the right place for this thread.

Yeh it's old news that this tropical storm has been forming, but I think it deserves it's own thread though I think theres others, primarily because I believe this is the most important part to this oil 'leak' / 'spill' whatever.

Thread started when most people didn't even believe a system was present out there. OP even hypothesized correctly at the exact day it would get a name! Good discussion in that thread, the first few pages argue whether or not System 93L is potentially a real storm or not, but later pages have very, very good info on its potential impact in the Gulf.
