The Sun has had a powercut, I repeat the sun has had a powercut...

And what is this "everything" we know about fusion?

If, as some say (Electric Universe Theory), Sun is a projection of some power sources in Universe, then this would be easily possible.

That very quote calls your credibility into question and only helps prove my point that this is clearly a HOAX

Yeah that would be possible assuming the sun is itself an illusion

Which its not......

When I say dimming, I dont mean that the sky went pitch black hell fire rose from the ground & the dead started walking the earth lol

So it went from being a second to being a fraction of a second, and now it didn’t actually happen like someone “pulled the plug” but rather it got a lil dimmer. That happened every time a cloud passes by the sun, oh but you said there were no clouds....... so perhaps this is a hoax.

Our perception of Sun is an illusion. Therefore...

We don't really know what is going on inside Sun. It is all theory - theoria=vision in old Greek.

How many times has science switched its theories? And the world did not collapse...

All im trying to do here is explain what I saw as best I can, whilst working in a call centre. No need to be a jerk now is there

Unless you have a PHD in astrophysics then that’s a very bold statement to make. Let’s not forget if this happened as the OP said it did then everyone in the UK would have noticed it and also the sun would appear to be noticeably higher in the sky. And would this not also have altered the orbit of the earth?

And until the Sun is proved to be a illusion then your theory holds no water

Oh no, his story with no precise measurements switched from the colloquial use of "second" to the more precise "fraction of a second"! He must be making the whole thing up because of this inconsistency.

Calling on "established physics" as a holy, infallible entity is a token of your massive misunderstanding of science. "Established Physics" is not prescriptive, it's descriptive. It tells us how all the things we have observed so far seem to work. It doesn't tell us necessarily how they actually DO work, nor does it tell them HOW to work. It describes what seems to be true, and with enough rigour what probably is true. But it does not describe what is necessarily ACTUALLY true.

Could have been a high flying plane too. However, I did notice something strange once. I was at a rest area on I90 in southern MN once and while I was just looking at the scenery I noticed some large shady patches on the ground that didn't seem to have clouds attached to them. and other times I noticed bars of shadow in the sky going to the ground. Again with no apparent clouds attached to them.

Invisible UFO's maybe?

Anyone here confident they could see (let alone hear) a large aircraft flying overhead at cruising altitude of 30000'+ ? They don't always leave contrails depending atmospheric conditions at that height. I'm wondering how large the shadow of a jumbo or similar size jet at that altitude would be on the ground.

Ok then just to be clear, you people are saying that it is possible for the sun to turn its self on and off and move it’s self in a fraction of a second. With only two people in the country noticing this bizarre event. And that all established physics regarding the sun is wrong. You don’t think there is the slightest possibility that this could be a hoax

Please find me some sane people......

maybe as you where both puffing on your smokes you had a sort of mini stroke thing and the cigarettes made your body temperature drop a few degrees and that is why you believe it was then colder after your mini stroke things and then it all went back to normal except you believed it was hotter when it was not

just a thought

That is a good theory, im sure if either a high altitude plane or a satelite got in front of the sun it might of caused a shadow - it would of needed to cover a lot of the sun though.

I live directly over a area of busy airspace and i can safely say i have never seen that. Interesting theory though, must better than the sun turning itself off.

Again a much better idea than the sun turning its self off however i do know that mini strokes or TIA’s don’t work like that.

And not one of these explains how the sun can noticeably move higher in the sky with in a fraction of a second. Sorry I know you are new but this is week. What happened to the no pictures or video it never happened rule?

Have you got a link to this other, similar thread? Thanks in advance.

Op, Hope I'm not too off topic, but I believe you because a month or so ago, around 2am, I watched the sky grow darker and lighten up again, changing colour as it did so. I mentioned it to my daughter, who rolled her eyes at me. One of her workmates saw it too, then, a few nights later, she also witnessed it.

I described it like a dimmer switch going slowly up and down. I'd say over the space of five to eight minutes. It went from a kind of pale green to a deep dark magenta. This went on for almost an hour.

Aurora Borealis effect in Glasgow? LOL.

Assuming that the OP did really experience this, could it be some kind of electrical (sonic etc) - neural interference?

It only occurred to me because I took my little cousin to the local shops yesterday and he was complaining about the Mosquito Repellant and I didn't understand until he explained...

The new Mosquito MK4 Multi-age now has two functions. Either set the device to 17KHz to disperse groups of troublesome teenagers OR set it to 8 KHz to disperse people of ANY AGE from areas where loitering can be an issue such as subway terminals, car parks or any areas where people feel insecure at night due to other people loitering in the shadows etc.

Everything you have just described happened to me some time last week and I live in PHX. I was out in the middle of the day trying to keep my plants alive. There were no clouds in the sky and the sun was high in the sky. Then I see this dark flash just like you have said. It reminded me of when the sky falls in the evening and you get that quick flash.

Does anyone know why the sky falls at night? Could it be some optical illusion that tricks the senses?

Also someone posted that there were other threads like this and I was wondering if they had the links or titles for some more reading?
