wat do u guys think of this idea

ive seen on various boards ive been on in the past that at the top of each section/board it shows who is browsing in that section. i thought this would be a good idea for ATS but just wanted to see what other users thought.

I disabled that option long ago. And recently disabled a more global "whos online" function. Given that we regularly have over 100 concurrent users, and over 500 concurrent guests (and we've seen over 1,000 guests), the load on server performance of these "nice-to-have" features was too much.

o i see. just recomended it cuz theres been a few times when u wait for a reply or wonder if anyone even read wat u said and knowing if ppl are even on the board helps. but i see ur point.

I have waited for people to reply as well. I just go to the thread and look under their avatar to see if they are still on.

yea still u wonder if there in that board or if its a general stament if anyone is on the board. although scince we dont and wont have that feature implicated that is a pretty good technique i use.

Oh, I see what you are saying DD. You have no idea if they are on that thread or not. I think it means that they are on ATS in general. That would be a pretty cool feature, but as SO said, bandwidth is being used up and something had to go.

Yeah, it would be cool to have that feature but, needed the bandwidth. I still miss the Who's On feature, though.

Oh, one way to keep an eye out for reply's is to go to My ATS and on the right hand side their is a list of threads you have reply'd in. Just keep an eye on that to see when you get a reply. I do that sometimes.
