In the video concerning fire under water the narrator said BP had some sort of devise used to ignite the methane in the hope of burning some of it off. This gets way beyond me. You're right, a geologist would be very helpful. So. Where do we find a geologist? There's a university here, as I'm sure there is one in your community. Finding some one who hasn't been paid off & willing to get hip deep in this could be the real challenge. I see phone calls in our future.

I can start making calls Monday. Curious...is it possible to get the footage of the subduction that doesn't havee any comments attached? My equipment can't make those changes.

Dood...what do you think that is gushing from the floor at 8:22 in that video? It's a huge amount of something! Did you notice that the ROV had it's arm in that trench like it was digging right before the floor slid? Also, I wonder what that rope was for....it seemed interested in that rope.

no idea what was spewing at all. just like you. As far as its arm earlier in the video, i dont think it was 'digging'. it looks like it was merely parked there and had a lot of the debris around it.

Thankyou for all your help Kno....I am going to do the same. I have been trying to find out what that rope/pipe thing is. I'll post if I find out. I'm curious about it since I saw it in some videos yesterday as well (where things went boom).....I sent out some more emails yesterday....so far no response from the ones I sent earlier.

I had to stop watching this one. Not because it's overwhelming because it obviously is. Does anyone else feel like we are living in some sort of altered dimension? This event is the largest non-event in our history. Reporters are still following & airing the story...but it's like they aren't. I know, that barely makes sense. That's the point. I try to catch the network news & can say, those I do see, aren't reporting this.

I'm not an expert. Certainly not a genius...but I'm not stupid either. Reasonable people in the Gulf are saying reasonable things. They can't all be 'conspiracy theorists' to be brushed aside. It's just not possible. There is either oil or there is not. The seabed is erupting or it is not. Acting as if it has all gone away is not going to induce coma in the people of an entire region. The toxins might. I'm flabbergasted. It's the only word I can find.

I wish it were possible for you guys to see how many times this thread is READ! While I often read, I rarely reply as I have nothing of substance to add. But, I'm still watching, still appreciating others who have kept this topic at least "somewhat" in the forefront.

Think there will be some activity here pretty soon what with the earthquake. I'm well aware of the location of Indonesia so please. I'm talking when the earth turns.

FYI- Early this morning between 3-5 am the feeds were down and marine traffic showed no ships in the Mississippi Canyon area. Just got in and noticed no feeds are up. This morning, once the feeds and marine traffic "returned" simultaneously, feeds were showing Chouest 1 and DD2. Anyone know what happened-again-?

i suspect that may indeed be 'dead' by industry standards, seeing as its now being reported the number of leaking and improperly killed wells in the GoM alone.

Yeah Dood could be dead & we don't know if the the other well (A or B) is still leaking.
There appears to be more people out searching for oil & plumes on the sea floor
so my guess is most of the reports will be coming from those scientist.

Sorry StealthyKat, but you are way wrong on the floor moving and exploding. Maybe you are tired and missed some obvious clues:

1. The reading on the top of the ROV screen clearly shows the camera is panning left, which makes the sea floor
seem to move right. If the sea floor did move like you're suggesting, then this would be a catastrophic situation
resulting in massive disturbance.

2. The metal tube like object attached to the ROV is set on the sea floor, so when the ROV pans round to the
left, the resulting drag from this item kicks up all the debris on the sea floor. This item can clearly be seen
dragging through the muck. It can also be seen raised, after the clouds dissipate.

Good work by you, but your imagination in this case has run away with you.

i thought the same thing, but when the ROV pans down, and you see the 'floor' move hard right, the 'foot' of the rov is NOT moving. In fact, it is so still it has become covered in debris.

i tried paying attention to the readings indicating long/lat and co-ordinates. Can you mention the numbers it is jumping between?
