SALINAS, Calif. – "A California couple faces child endangerment charges after police say they tried to sell their 6-month-old baby for $25 outside a Walmart store.

Salinas police spokesman, Officer Lalo Villegas, said Thursday that Patrick Fousek, 38, and Samantha Tomasini, 20, were arrested early Wednesday, hours after Fousek allegedly approached two women outside Walmart and asked if they'd like to purchase his child.

The women initially thought Fousek was joking, but when he became persistent, they became suspicious and reported it to police, Villegas said."

What in the world. Are you kidding me? And for $25 just so they could get there fix.

I pray that this child never finds out about this. Its just disgusting, unhuman, and heartless.

If I can remember correctly, I believe I read something here on ATS about drug user's being paid not to reproduce. Well, here's a good reason why.

Who the hell would buy a baby at Walmart?

Everytime I see a baby at Walmart it's usually of the Mexican variety and it's crying and wailing like a freakin' ambalamps.

I guess I go to a different WalMart than you go to. Usually, where I shop it's some Mexican kids who act well, and it's white kids who scream and yell while their parents whop the crap out of them.

25 dollars for a baby. Gee, does that even cover the cost of diapers for a few months? Freaking idiots. Not only did this person not know that selling a child is wrong, but didn't even try to make a profit. Drugs are a terrible thing when used by idiots.

Don't even get me started about these meth headed white folks where I live. Good Gawd! I'd rather spend time with Mexicans who don't speak English very well with me not speaking Spanish well, or with black folk who will remain suspicious of my white self for a while before they realize I am sort of okay for a white guy.

I have no idea of the color of the person trying to sell his kid, but I am going out on a limb here and suspect it was a white person.

I'm sure WalMart just had a brainstorm for yet another new marketing opportunity too.

Wow, though, they must have been very desperate...or something. The child probably would have had a much better quality of life if they had gone to Target.

I guess I'll have to start hanging out at Walmart.

I've tried dumpsters and had no luck.

I'd a paid $25 - probably doubled it.

I hope that family gets help and can stay together.

The problem is they competing with Wal-Mart on its own turf. I don't know about California, but babies at Wal-Mart here are going for $.50/lb on rollback. For a six-month old, that's only about $10. Of course that's because its all cheap Chinese import babies. I guess the immigrants or seeing the impact of cheaper outsourcing.

I work in retail and everyday I see dumb&*# parents with their bratty, screaming kids, and I can assure you that these parents are every color, black, white, mexican, chinese, whatever. Awful parenting is not limited to a single race.


Also, kyred, the guy looks mexican but the mother looks white.

Isn't $25 a little low for a baby? I would pay at least $30.

Seriously, if this is true it is a tragedy, and if it is not true, then what sick mind thought of it.

There is no price on a human life - although at the rate humans wipe each other out you would not think so.

What the heck did these people expect was going to happen? They approached two random strangers and actually begged them to buy a human baby for 25 dollars? How did they think the police weren't going to be called? Why did they think that anybody would just buy a baby on an impulse buy in a Wal-Mart parking lot? How do people this pathetic and scum baggy end up making it to 38 and 20 without getting killed or thrown in jail forever?

...And besides, everybody knows Taco Bell pays the most for unwanted babies...
