I just like the original question: What IS a lightworker?
I have known many lightworkers.
Perhaps this is a good reminder to me as well,
but here is what a lightworker is as I understand it.

A lightworker is a human being who through self reflection/realization and a little talent in being sensative to energy, has been able to achieve inner peace and spreads it outword through thier enviornment.
IE: Love goes in, peace comes out.
A lightworker is aware of a spiritual level of being, and is able to resolve problems through a multitude of talents revolving around spiritual insight.

A white witch of sorts if you will, but more dealing with upper realms, the higher vibrations.

Ahem....as I understand it anyways

At best so-called Starseeds, Lightjobs, or whatever, are just people with above average intellect who happen to also be very spiritual, so they think they're some kind of special class of human here to guide mankind.

In any case, it sounds like setup for another scam.

I actually prefer "Connected". Connected to the Energy (the Matrix) - whatever.

Lightworker is like the first wave - supposedly arriving around the end of WWII. Then Indigos (which is actually the energy color of their aura). Then Crystals - then Rainbows - and who knows what next.

The Labels are being given by humans. I suppose its to say each generation is more intune - - more enlightened.

I don't think its necessary.

Also - - I'm sure all through the evolvment of human - - there have been those "Connected". This group just seems to be more organized with a purpose.

We don't think we are special, we know we are special, just like we know you and every being in existence is special.

You should try it the other way around. I was born KNOWING - having out of body experiences almost every night as young as 5. I was completely lost in this world. I did not understand why people acted the way they did. I considered suicide at age 9 - - so I could go "home".

It was very very very hard to adjust to living in this world. It still is. But with maturity I learned to "fake it". I try to keep my physical feet firmly on the physical earth - - one foot in front of the other.

I try to make each day count for something.

Try to consider every thought an action. Because thought is energy - - and energy creates.

You fit the description of a Starseed.

Uh yeah. And I was born in 1946 - - - long before any of this was being discussed.

And long before anyone put a label on it.

I was born in 1946 - and had a Knowing from as long as I can remember - - - long before there was any internet or groups - - - or even one person I could relate to.

I only know my own experiences.

Do I think there are some genuine evolved consciousnesses incarnated into the human body and this time line? YES.

But - in my entire life of 60+ years - - I have only met One - in person.

I look at it this way: "there are many athletes - but only a handful of Olympians".

If someone feels they are in an Awakening - - then they should pursue it - - - just as an athlete strives to be the best. Who knows. Maybe you will earn the gold medal.

How is it bad if someone feels they are here to help and elevate mankind?

I can not find one thing wrong with that mind set.

Is it your own ego - - - that fears a generation of enlightened beings with a positive attitude?

my mom's friend is a lightworker and yes that is her profession, she works with light energy as a form of therapy, it's like getting a massage with energy, similar to reiki healing. (actually I don't know the difference, I think it's almost exactly the same just a few slight differences in technique.) About 6 months ago I did a session with her and the experience was beyond amazing. She never touched me, what she does is hovers her hands above your third eye chakra creating a triangle by placing her thumb and pointer fingers together. She uses her hands in this triangle shape like a magnifying glass concentrating sunlight and pulls down and focuses higher vibrational light energy into your consciousness. This pure light energy is so intense it literally makes your head buzz, it felt like the molecules in my eye lids could barely stay together my entire forehead area where she was concentrating the light was vibrating so much. If you've ever tried sungazing meditation, it's like that first time, when you're trying to relax your eyes but the light energy causes your eyelids to vibrate. Just like that. I can't tell you what happened next cause it's personal and maybe for another thread but all I'll say is it got too intense for me and I had to stop. So, just to clarify, yes Lightworkers are special. This, however, does not mean that you are not. Be thankful for them and their gifts, they are here to raise your awareness, raise your vibration, and activate your lightbody.

if we didn't have labels you might end up with salt in your coffee.

Lightworker? It is an opposite to heavyworker, who works with heavy things. Lightworker works with light things like thoughts that disappear in the air

Seriously though, in the age of materialism and selfishness there is (un-)conscious drive for opposite reaction and attitude, which is compensatory. It is quite understandable that people without better understanding adopt in these unconscious drives. Lightworking is not different. Those who perceive materialism and selfishness as dark things which endager the humanity as whole, will more or less consciously adopt in these opposite attitudes. Lightworker hence is only a fancy (new age boogelidoo) name for a philantropist and humanitarian idealist.

There's nothing bad to be a lightworker. It's very good that there are people willing to help other people (as long as they don't shove it down to throat). I for one have symphaties towards those in need help and advice, but I would never call myself a lightworker. I am merely me, and nothing else. Hey wait, no! I of course am a keeper of ruzxnapux, beholder of truth and a landscorporal of heavenly starfleet!

Sounds a fair enough explanation v01i0. Especially the part about forcing the notion on others. I have no problem with people confering titles on themselves, as long as I am not expected to believe it. My experience has always led me to a very different opinion of those who claim spiritual status, one quite inconsistent with their claims. I realize their could be exceptions to this rule, but I have not encountered one of these exceptions, as of yet.

I have had similar experiences (I think). Claiming a spiritual status is another unconscious compensatory effect. If you work hard to help other people, often without decent profit and at your own expenses, you may hope for another kind of reward, that is respect of self and others, by claiming spirtual status.

Spiritual type of reward is as good reward as the material one. After all, material rewards tend to lead in spirtual rewards (emotions of pleasure and bliss). We humans are social creatures who thrive for appreciation of our society. Hence status can be as rewarding as some material rewards, such as money - if both social and material rewards can be compined, it is all the better, yet both are dangerous for our self-esteem. We may become illusioned about our own capacities and our importance for society. I've seen quite many arrogant people (philantropists as well) who regard themselves to be very important figures, yet they are nothing but leaves in the wind. Be they criticized, the anger and resentment of them and their zealous followers soon to follow. By it's fruits the tree is known.

Very insightful v01i0. Pride does come in many varied ways for all of us.

The greatest kindness I have seen always came from people who seemed compelled simply because they should. Seeming without any other motive, need for recognition or need to add to any percieved notions of themselves. Seems rare though.
