Didn't see a thread like this, and it seems it might be of some benefit to have one convenient location for game users' game reviews, so here it is:

Rate the game you're currently playing.

Use whatever scale you want, just be sure to explain your rating system if you think there could be confusion.

Multiple reviews of the same game are welcome and even encouraged.

This thread was inspired by Karlhungis's thread " Rate the movie you just watched ", so credit, props and mad re-spizz-ect where the aforementioned are due.

Thanks for dropping by.

I'll start things off.

I'm going through Grand Theft Auto IV again (PS3 version). I beat it with the cheat codes the first time through and now I'm going for 100% completion.

It's a lot more difficult without cheats, but I'm still loving it. It's just as good the second time through.

8.5 out of 10.

I'm playing carmagedon I give it a 10. Excelent gameplay and stupid simple. Win the race or kill everyone on the track and you can run people over along the way.

Mass Effect 2, and god help me, but I'm hooked. It lacks immersion, but the combat's solid and so much effort has gone in to the story (or stories) and characterization that I can't helped be impressed. And what's great about it is that it's not rammed down your throat like other games with complex stories, you can investigate as much or as little as you like.

I can see how it might be alienating to people who hadn't played the first, so I'd recommend that one as well, despite the combat lacking polish. It's a game that requires a big time commitment, so if you're looking for a sci-fi with scope that will last you a while, they're both worth getting. Certainly value for money in terms of play time.

Im playing ME2 right now i like it. The only thing i would like to see from the Mass effect series is a more sandbox type game.
The dialouge options have baffeled me at times also, sometimes you really have no idea what you are choosing to say as the option to pick only gives you a dim idea of what you will be replying with.
So in a conversation where you have the choice to say yes or no. If you pick no it may be a simple "no" or it could be "HELL NO YOU ARE A REATARD FOOR LOOKING AT ME". I do not the red and blue pretty much sum up the attitude of how you will say it but sometimes you do not have those options.
Overall i think the story and game length make up for its short commings, the whole reason i started RPGs and Sandbox games is because i got sick of games that only lasted 6 hours max.

Red Dead Redemption

What a world be become immersed in! Excellent combat scenarios, with many different weapons and realistic shootouts (reminiscent of GTA 4 of course, as it is by the same creators) and also a story line that will get you pretty hooked.
The karma system is fun, with you being able to choose whether to be an honest man, or an outlaw, with in game scenarios depending on your choices.

And last, but not least, AN UNPRECENDENTED WILD WEST! A giant world with many hidden secrets - this provides many hours of gameplay compared to the modern trend of making short games!

9 out of 10!

Starcraft 2

I give it the rating of "holy crap".

Like its predecessor it is an RTS masterpiece.

I gotta concur. If I were forced to rate it, I'd have to give it a 10, simply for the storyline. Blizzard outdid themselves this time. True, there are a few spots that seem to need polished (news broadcasts anyone?), but all in all, one hell of a game so far!! And multi-player is even better, with a TONNE of possibilities for the e-games later on. Looks like this game will be taking the place of the old SC and BW in the Korean gaming circuit.

ETA: I'm currently listening to the Soundtrack. Pretty decent, if you ask me.

Me being a family man and not having money to buy new games,I recently purchased a used copy of Oblivion GOTY edition from Game Stop.

After getting hooked on Fallout 3,and playing it over and over for 6 months,I decided to try another game from Bethesda Softworks.

At first I didn't understand the game, but after a little online help with alchemy and the magic I'm definitely hooked.

Now I understand why it got game of the year.I rate it a 9.5/10.

I can't wait to try Red Dead Redemption.

Just started playing it and I agree.

It'll hold me over until they put out a (real) Mortal Kombat game for PS3.

Mount and Blade: PC. Fun game, can get tedious at times though. 6/10

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror: Game Boy Advance. I'm a Kirby fan, just love those game, but this one is really cool, having 4 Kirby's running around the world, you can call the other 3 to come to your assistance if needed, like during boss battles, it's multi player too, AWESOME! 9/10

Wii sports: Wii (duh). My whole family loves the bowling, that's all we ever really play, the kids like playing the other games on it though. 9/10

Final Fantasy VII: PS1. What can I say? 10/10

I think I'm gonna go play some more Kirby.

I'm currently playing Quake 4 and Quake Enemy Territory. They both have excellent graphics and don't require a high end card. The game play for this first person shooter starts off slow and gradually promotes to harder play as you progress. Just they way a game should be. I hate games that start off real hard and you're stuck the first 15 minutes of game play.

I give both an 8 out of 10.

I decided to give the new games a break, hook up the ol' SNES and go through Chrono Trigger again.

Still amazing after all these years.
