That's what those parents did...

This morning the beach was clear in Destin, by mid-afternoon tar balls were covering the beach. They appear to be very gooey and sticky in consistency.

It is unclear at this point whether or not this is just a temporary wave of tar balls affecting the area or the beginning of something bigger.

In this particular video oil can be seen sticking to the foot of a young girl who then becomes upset. This happens approximately 2:15 into the video.

STUPID PARENTS.

And another good one... water boiling like acid. I don't know if it's gas releases that makes that effect or corexit... anyway kinda scary.

Yea I don't really know who in the right mind would let their kids play there. I wouldn't consider that a healthy environment for anyone let alone a child.

what gets me the most is that no major news channel is showing any of this!

What a travesty.

The little girl is precious, like a poster child of the innocent things that the corporate interests trample over in their greedy quest for riches.

Dumb mom's like that give americans a bad name,

like cow's chewing grass in a pasture.

No doubt they'll stop at Mcdonalds on the way home to get Happy Meals.

Believe me, even with oil on the sea and on the sand, people will keep going to the beach.

I remember there was a ship that sunk many many years ago in Brazil and some of the oil in the barrels polluted a few beaches in the island of Sao LUis, in the state of Mranhão, Brazil. I lived there for 11 years, from 6y to 17y.

I remember there was one beach where the sand had oil in it. People stopped going to the water(mostly), but kept going ot the beach because we use to have a lot of open bars. So people would sit by the tables to eat and drink and would ignore the oil.

It wasn't as bad as in the movie posted by the OP, though. But the oil was there.

None. There are too many people in love with Obama. If some small protest does happen, it will be completely ignored by the MSM.

I think she said it was yesterday afternoon when the oil first starting washing up, so we'll probably hear about it today.

But those beach areas.....wow. I remember once, years ago, it rained in Destin for 30 days straight. Thick black cloud cover; wouldn't leave.

Never once would they admit it on the radio stations. The forecast every single morning was it was clearing up by the afternoon. The forecast every evening was it would be clear by the next morning.

Like fools, we kept staying...waiting....just like they wanted us to do.

My point is: some of those areas might say it's okay when it's not.
Just because of the money, honey.

It's like a Troma movie come true.

Watch out for Surf Nazi's kids.

And stay away from the yellow joints.

"Gee wiz, let's take the kids down to the beach and see if we can get on camera honey! It'll be great!!!"

What kind of moron would put their children in that situation? Stuff is not maple syrup or hot fudge, it's friggin' oil and it's harmful to us!

Some people are so god-awful stupid, ugh.

Dont they have a coast guard on the beach, surely someone should be warning people of the dangers of swimming with Oil.
Some people are a bit ignorant and some just wont know what the sticky stuff on the beach is. It is the job of the authorities to inform the general public about these dangers and preferably clos the beaches.

The waves lapping onto the beach are brown. I guess the entire panhandle of Florida is now affected, and it's wrapped itself around and is heading up the east coast. Question...has it hit Texas yet? It woul be the irony of all ironies to me if Texas was spared somehow.

Apparently, there are signs on some beaches. I don't know where this one was...somewhere in Florida.

I haven't heard anything about the oil making landfall anywhere in Texas yet. My guess is that, even if it hasn't made landfall there yet, it is just a matter of time before some of the brown stuff gets pushed towards Texas.

This is the problem with the majority of Americans...Ignorant parents.

The most disturbing clip I seen on TV. A very small child, 2 years or younger, holding mommas hand walking in the oil tainted water. I think any parent allowing their children to play in the tainted water needs to be charged with NEGLECT! WTH is wrong with people?

Could the 'boiling water' be methane ?

Not sure how it works, but if bits of frozen methane are spreading around the gulf and turning into gas when it heats up..........

It has to be a case of straight up ignorance as to the toxicity of the oil to us, not to mention the highly toxic dispersants being used. That's also a case of neglect in my opinion, because if you're going to expose your child to something like light crude, you should probably do a bit of research and make sure that it's SAFE first.....and we all know that it's not, lol.

I remember when the trailer park that I grew up in would flood, my mom wouldn't even let me outside for fear that I would get sick from the backed up storm drains overflowing with nasty stuff. I couldn't imagine her ever taking my toddling butt to an oily beach!!

In all the satellite photos it looks like it's wrapping around away from Texas. Maybe they'll be spared the worst of it.
