The Special "TOP HAT" Cover on Top of the BOP has Apparently Blown Off!

Taken just now from BP's rover cam, 10:27pm est.

Looks nasty.

I'm not liking how much and how quickly this thing changes.

I was just watching a live video on cnn and it looks like the top cap has leaks coming from the bottom of it.

Is this typical and I just haven't noticed it before?

I thought the same thing and saw you had posted it. Is the top cap not on good or something - yet?

Im sure I missed it somewhere in the thread. But where are all these feeds coming from, my search only comes up with 1 bp feed on google. By the way, long time reader first time poster

edited to clarify that you need Windows Media plugin to view the streams on this page. When you have the right player, everything comes through just fine. Nothing much appears to have changed in the last hour or so.

Thank you for your reply, I believe it's getting worse since I posted.

Do you think the well has deteriorated even more?

I see no videos showing the top hat anymore. The last thing I saw was the camara panning down to where its seeping and then it went blank. I went to the other site just posted and it doesn't show the top cap either.

Yes, I was watching it at livestream and the camera went out...everyone is asking what happened to the camera and predicting dire consequences so I came here to see what is on here...

It is supposed to be a picture of a wave coming onto an Alabama beach..It is utterly impressive.

I used the search engine at Twitter with the phrase BP Oil Spill and it is was one of the first links available. It is a picture of a wave that has oil patches and blotches all over it...It is truly horrifying...I hope someone here can find it and get a link that will work...I will check at the guardian again...

I heard it was removed because it had started to ice up and was threatening to stop the flow.

That picture is completely heartbreaking. I hope they have a plan for the manatees when that mess starts washing up in Florida like that

I don't know how to link anything here, I'm new...if you go to NPR news it says one of the remotes hit something causing pressure to build, along w/ ice crystals...removed cap this morning & now it's supposedly back in place.
