i don't think any of those reasons are even worth it, even if the stealth cloak was only 10 dollars. Those "benefits" of the stealth cloak are hardly productive and beneficial.

paranormal.about.com...

here's an article about donna higbee about human involuntary invisibility. I've been reading up on the cloak to. My mom says it couldn't be done psyically but i have hopes that cloaking and invisibility is possible in real life. I wish it all wasn't just possible in the calculations.

bump, no one want to start a conversation about this? does anyone think that this could be usable with the next 20 years? Does anyone think that total invisibility is actually possible?

If something this "low-tech" is being shown publicly, you can pretty much count on the fact that we have "true cloaking" somewhere.

To test ones moral fabric

Do you guys think this type of technology could be implemented on say.... a submarine/submersible?

And do you think cloaking the entire 'boat' would compromise other qualities? Such as armor, noise levels, propulsion, and such.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking.

I wonder if the military (any) have 'invisible' aeroplanes and subs..

Could infrared still be used to 'see' this form of cloaking on a submarine that's in the cold ocean waters? Like would the infrared radiation of the people inside the sub still be visible with infrared cameras?

In general, it seems like a good idea for military vehicles, and personnel, to carry infared equiptment as a preventative measure for this type of cloaking. Anyone agree?

Cloaking key civilian buildings in a war-zone?

Cloaking my dad when he walks out in his underwear.

With a little imagination im sure you could come up with hundreds of non military (read redneck) ideas! How about applying it to boats for reef veiwing for fishermen, no glass bottom required! Personality id love my ceilings done with the stuff for veiwing the stars at night from the confort of my bed. See thru paint! Use your head!

Use your head indeed! Creative ideas Instar! I really like the invisible ceiling for star gazing one

Why has this topic been resurrected?

It's a projector TV... thats all it is. It projects an image onto an object to give you the 'illusion' that you can see through it.

Guess what, it only works if your standing beside the projector.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but this is not stealth/cloaking. Just a cool trick Hollywood might be able to use in their next movie.

Errr maybe i'm confused. Isn't stealth/cloaking the same thing as 'giving something the illusion that you can see through it'?
Surely you're not implying that stealth actually makes an object dissapear beyond sight...

Overall I think this is a good start to more promising applications.

Yes, but the illusion still only works if you are standing next to the projector.

"Oh, hey I don't see anything"
"Ok, but what's that high powered projector doing beside you?"
"I dunno... let's ignore it and pretend nothings wrong"

As if.
