JUDICIAL officials say a Saudi court has convicted four women and 11 men for mingling at a party and sentenced them to flogging and prison terms.

The men, who are between 30 and 40 years old, and three of the women, who are under the age of 30, were sentenced to an unspecified number of lashes and one or two year prison terms each.

The fourth woman, a minor, was sentenced to 80 lashes and was not sent to prison.

I'm puzzled how peeople choose to live there, with those sorts of conditions. It's an interesting mindset, when people go along with those laws, thinking that it's ok to make them and enforce them.

The human mind can be so easily fooled.

For the same reason that anyone rebels against the status quo. To make a point and possibly make a change.

That's ruling with an iron resolve for you. I'm glad I live somewhere humane, despite the obvious problems of where I live. Rather here than there.

Also, flogging a minor? Come ON. Way to establish your flawed and barbaric judicial system so that the minors friends will turn into good little sheeple.

Ofc they are going to get arrested and thrown in jail , i mean there´s bound to be some some serius ankle action or even a few people getting to close to each other. And we all know this is a big no no , to give u a better picture of what im talking about check it out for yourself.

Because most people conform. Most people go along to get along. We saw it in the 50's and 60's with the Civil Rights movement. How could people support Jim Crow and Racism? It's not that they supported it. It's just they weren't brave enough to take a stand against it. It wasn't until people felt it was safe to take a stand that they did so. Most people just want to live in peace and quiet. Then you have those who want more but are too poor or otherwise inconvenienced to get out of the hellhole.

Does anyone want to stick thier finger in the pot and stir up more sh__t like Bush did? Did hanging Saddam change anything over there? Those people have been stuck in thier biblical ways for thousands of years and all the bombs in the world are not going to change what they think, they are religious. Doesn't anyone get it? All I'm saying is lets put a halt to this liberal love wagon and let them live the way they want to live. If they don't like thier country they can move out. There's no guaranty in life that things are going to be good for all. Get over it. Human rights organizations need to concentrate on this socially backward country. Eventually, I think the people will rebel and overthrow the monarchy. It is well past due!

I doubt I would last a week in Saudi Arabia. I would be sentenced to public hanging for beating up a religious police officer with my high heels. Even if i seen some other woman getting hassle for not dressing in the way they deem appropiate or for being out without a male guardian then I wouldnt be able to stop myself from intervening, i know we are supposed to respect other religions and cultures but honestly I would have to let rip.

That destination is definatley somewhere I shall not be going.
